Good read, I would like to read the Car article they have in the Jan 2012 issue as they say they had the BS for two days on the streets of california.

Thanks for sharing, but the review is kinda short. Give me more details.....Dropping $125K is going to take come convincing, considering the other cars in that arena.

The article is written by Chris Harris. Nice write up, does not go in any real detail about "city street" driving. Pretty positive across the board, only slight negative was the trans. Not as good as the DCT from BMW M3 GTS. a common theme on all the articles I have read about the 63 black to date. Pictures were taken at the Laguna Launch in the States, Solar Beam Yellow. 4.5 stars.

Would you be able to post the article please. Or if anyone else can. We won't get it for a month here

Sorry Shegelman, i am mistaken. I was reading Evo yesterday, not CAR. So it sounds like the CAR review will go in more depth.

I've heard that these are almost all going for $30,000 over MSRP in the U.S. Also I think you may be able to order a coupe with specific pkgs that essentially get you a BS car.

I'm not sure where you get your information, but nobody is marking the BS over 30k MSRP. That's looking at 160K. And the BS has the rear differential taken from the E63 which is completely rebuilt.

I know of two in CA that are marked up by about 30k. MSRP is about 105k. There are only about 75 available in the US. Diff upgrade is easy. I think it's a drexler LSD.

Cali always seems to have the slimiest of dealers always willing to do this, I suppose theres alot of actor or athlete money out there willing to put with these shenanigans

Go to the Private Lounge. The car is MSRP 105,000. Completely optioned out though your looking at less than 130K. The cars that are being sold at that price obviously are coming fully equipped with Aero and Track Pack, AMG Media Center etc.

In the Canadian Dealer Orders, you essentially order a C63 Coupe with the BSP package, which makes it a C63 BS. The dealer has to be allocated one of these, you can't take any C63 allocation and order the BSP package.

I can confirm that some CA dealers are marking it up and offering them for sale. Friend of mine in the bay area is trying to get one with no luck, except for a few dealers offering for 30-40k over MSRP with no choice of colors/options.

The dealers marking it up are not AMG Performance Centers (only APC's are getting allocations from MBUSA and MBCanada), so I'm guessing they've purchased an allocation from other dealership, confirmed the specs, and marking them up for resale when they arrive.

Gas Tax is $1700 on a C63, and destination is $850

So, Fully optioned $137150 plus sales tax (would be $141264.50 in VA, and another $2743 in personal property tax Jan. 1st)

All options except black rims and matte paint is $132200 ($136166 and $2644). Plus insurance probably around $1.5-2k a year (clean record on a $140k car with no demographic data).

If you're like me I try to block all those other costs from my mind when buying to make me feel better about the price.

And who wants to be the guy that ordered no options on a car they only made 75 of (in the US).
