People with exhaust tips painted black...?

I painted mine myself, no sanding or scuffing down the exhuast tips. Its holding up VERY well. No peeling or anything. I just used engine enamel satin black spray paint.

Didn't remove the diffuser I just masked everything around it (Bumper, diffuser, etc) with a plastic film and just sprayed on 2-3 coats.
I didn't lift the car either but It would've been easier to paint since you have easier access.
