Qustions about my '09...
OK, so I've had my '09 C63 for a few days now and I love it! Here's a few things that sort of annoy me though....maybe you guys can tell me if there's some simple solutions:
1. It drives me crazy that the bluetooth doesn't display caller information on the screen when I receive a call. I see the phone number but not the names. I was told that I can program them all in 1 by 1 but honestly...is that the only way?!
2. The front cornering lights. There should really be a way to turn those off. Every time I see another C class that has them my first thought is that they have a burned out foglight..LOL
3. The auto-dipping sideview mirror. I've followed the instructions in the owner's manual 500 times, but I can't seem to get this feature to work! I back into my parking space at home, so it's super helpful! Anyone manage to get it working?
4. The iPod intergration.....need I say more? lol
Otherwise...so far I love the car. The exhaust note is amazing, it's smooth, powerful, and comfortable. So far the move to Benz is great!

If you have a proper bluetooth puck, the caller id should show both name and number. The MB branded puck is renown for all kinds of compatibility issues... consider the MB-4 we carry if you want full performance from the phone system.... we do have replacement iPod kits too!!

With your bluetooth puck...what would I have to change? It will display all the information from my phone onto the nav screen when I get a call?
And how does your iPod kit work?

2) You can manually turn your headlights on and off instead of leaving it on full auto mode.
3) You have to select the RIGHT mirror for the reverse tilt down to work.
4) The white cable ipod integration is crap. Only work around is to get the media interface or get a 2010 and above car with the updated command unit.

And I did select the right mirror...still nada. Funny thing is..if I select the right mirror, the little red indicator lights up..but after a minute or so, it goes away.

I believe that for the mirror, the US cars did not have that feature (do a search to confirm).
Regarding the ipod, I use the steering wheels buttons and it works well. Not as it should be where the info should display on the COMMAND center like the 2010 but once you get used to the controls, it does the job.
The only way to "disable" the cornering light is to turn on your foglights. Probably not what you wanted to hear lol.
Enjoy your new beast.

1. You can do a bulk import via the PC card slot. You will need a PMICIA pc card (not all PC card works; I know this works) and a SD card. Export all your contact to Outlook then save them as vCard format onto the SD card root directory. Put the card into the c63 pc slot. Under phone menu, select phone, then address book then import from pc card. And you're done. Once someone on the phonebook calls then their contact info will show. Addresses will work for the GPS as well.
2. You can ask a MB service shop to program it to always stay on or off.
3. I don't think that's available for US models.
4. Different sellers offer variety of Ipod integration solutions. Cartronic has one as do midcityengineering. But they are all too pricey for me. I personally use PC cards for mp3s and Anystream (from cartronic) for pandora music.

I sent my contacts by Bluetooth, you can do them one by one or I set up groups on my phone and imported the groups (Nokia phone) as Vcards. Took a while to work this out. Good Luck.

The 09 sucked as far as phone sync and bringing the contacts over to the command. I believe a new version of command resolved this with the 2010. The only way you will see contact names is if you import your contact list to the car.
2. The front cornering lights. There should really be a way to turn those off. Every time I see another C class that has them my first thought is that they have a burned out foglight..LOL
I believe there is a setting to shut them off. Check the manual.
3. The auto-dipping sideview mirror. I've followed the instructions in the owner's manual 500 times, but I can't seem to get this feature to work! I back into my parking space at home, so it's super helpful! Anyone manage to get it working?
Should work. Its not that big of a dip so many its working and you dont notice. Also the faster you go in reverse the less it will work.
4. The iPod intergration.....need I say more? lol
Blows... You also cant charge your Ipod with the cable in the glove. Another 09 problem resolved in 2010.
Otherwise...so far I love the car. The exhaust note is amazing, it's smooth, powerful, and comfortable. So far the move to Benz is great!
Enjoy it! and get it tuned....

I've had a used 09 for nearly two years, as far as I know,
1) I keyed in all my frequent contacts into the COMAND system, so far as I know there was no SIM sync before the 2010 models
2) I've had the same problem too. I don't think it's something it can be done in the normal way. maybe some wiring work is needed.
3)I've actually never knew there was that function so thanks for that lol
4) This was really painful and I feel it, but unfortunately there's no official upgrade for the COMAND system. You can try some third party ones, here's one: http://midcityengineering.com/ipod-i...idge-bluetooth

Thanks pro pain. I guess I need to spend some more time with my owners manual...lol.
Here's another noob question. Are the internals of the side mirrors from 2009 to 2010 the same? I know the outer covers are different, but could you swap the outer covers? I found these on e-bay (i know..don't say it!), and I'm wondering if they'd fit. For $130 it's worth a try I think...lol

You mean the MM package? I'm not sure; non-MM c63s are kinda rare. But I think as long as you have a pc card slot and telephony functionality you should be able to do it. Then again, non-MM cars might not have the internal HDD required. If you want to check before committing to buying the pc card and SD memory, you can go into the phone menu and see if you have the import from pc card option (it should be greyed out if the system doesn't detect a SD card or vCard contacts). If it's there, then I'm pretty sure you can also bulk import contacts.

Not 100% sure but I think the internal from a 2010+ will not fit an 08+ casing/shell and vice versa; they are not the same in dimension. However 2010+ mirrors (the entire thing including the base) will fit on an 09 car. They are expensive as hell though and I'm pretty sure you still can't get the auto tilting feature. Those ebay mirrors will fit 08-09 models because they are designed specifically for pre-face lift c.

You could just get that part painted or covered with CF. Seems like that's a fairly common mod among the pre-fl owners.
