Tirespin
Hi
I take my C63 to the track often and I usually like to go head to head against other cars which i think are in the same league.
The only problem i face is that i dont seem to be getting the start correct, i am always getting alot of tire spin at the start of a race. What would be the optimal gear and would it be better with the traction control on or off? Any ideas on how i can get a better start?

Better tires

Proper technique
Those 3 things are going to be the main areas you can improve. I'd start with better technique.
You always want to start in the lowest gear possible. Like khmergod posted, you want to feather the throttle a bit. The gas pedal doesn't have to be all the way to the floor. It'll take some time, but you'll find the sweet spot after a while. As you feel the wheels lose grip, back off the throttle a little bit until you have traction, then roll back on the gas.

Yah it's not all just about mashing the throttle and holding on. It does take some pratice especially with our undersized rear tires.

Practice aka "the driver mod" is definitely the best way to improve in any form of racing. Perfecting the launch is extremely important in drag racing.
