HID Fog Light/Head light Help! 09 C63
Hey Fellas,
I'm a noob to Mercedes and still trying to get the hang of this car.
I'm sorry if its a repost which it prob is but every way I have searched I did not come up with an answer.
I just bought my 09 C63, previous owner installed HID Fogs which either way I am planning on changing. The issue that I have is when I turn the fogs light up to the direction I am turning to which is messing with the hids and its annoying. Is there any way to turn it off? Another problem, If I turn the knob fully to on position and pull for fog lights to turn on, after bout 2m off driving everything turns off headlights and fog lights. If I just turn on fogs without headlights I am fine. What can be causing this? I get no error messages on dash. I have to keep it on auto-setting with fogs off since I cant turn them on in auto mode. Anybody have this issue? Whats the best way of having HID fogs without having problems?
Thank You.

Some said the fog lights can be reprogrammed but I have not seen any confirmation on it. AFAIK there's nothing you can do about the auto turn assist fog lights unless you just leave it on. And your issue with leaving it on constantly sounds like an electrical problem, try isolating the cause by swapping the HIDs with normal bulbs.

I have no clue, the original owner installed them.
I guess the hid's are crap, I'm going to try and swap hids kits to what I usually get and see if that corrects the problem. If not then going to stock and taking it to benz.

It sounds like the wires to the HID bulbs may be installed without enough slack. As for the turning off issue, Mercedes will not tolerate HIDs without a module to fool the computer into thinking it has halogens installed.
That module is generally called a Bulb Out Warning eliminator and the cost about $15 per pair.
