Do I pay too much on my lease? 2012 C63

Hey Friends,
I just got my C63 on 1/30/12 and she currently has 328 miles.

I put nothing down. Only taxes, MVfees, 3yr wheel-tire insurance, 1st month payment- $899.47 totaling $6500 at signing.

So I pay $899.47/month for 36 months and get 7,500 miles per year.
Yes, 7,500 a year, but as you can see, even though I use it as my DD,
I only put about 50-60 miles per week at most...

I remember being quoted well over $1000 on a lease offer on an e92 ///M3 that was about the same price as this car.

Also, this car had 90 miles on it when I test drove it and eventually signed for it.
(The salesman was nice enough to add 100 miles on the contract saying she had 199 on her at signing)

Maybe I got too impulsive? And if you lease, what do you pay?
Thanks for any input.. BTW, I absolutely LOVE HER...

Normally people do not put too much down payment to that unless you find out you will keep the car for certain amount of time and you will not thinking of transfer the lease..your price seems fair enough..did they give you 4.9 as the leasing rate?

We would need to know options, etc to comment on the lease payment but it seems pretty good to me (not knowing what the purchase price was).

I would never put anything down on a lease (just my opinion) unless the financing rate was too high and then I would likely not lease... a lease is all about purchase price, financing rate and residual.

Thanks
And yes, I believe it is 4.9% and they also gave me some discounts because I switched over from a BMW. I didn't even actually own the BMW anymore, however luckily I still had the registration to it

I feel a lot better even after reading this. thanks again buddy~

Congrats on the car. For the record I hate leases. More so on hugely deprecating cars like an AMG. With that said...

On a 70K sticker you could have secured a 2.5% 60-72 month loan with a 6K DP for about 1K to 1200 a month. I would have taken that option and sold it at 36 months and at least got your DP back.

The mileage on that lease is VERY LOW. They are pretty much making you pay about 30K in the depreciation plus interest and you are handing them back a 3 year old car with 22K miles on it. They will still have 1 year and 30K miles warranty on it so they will CPO it for another 2 years that they will sell for about 45-50K. Id say the dealer made out like bandits.

But you still get to drive an awesome car for not much down and a low monthly payment so you win as well, but you gotta keep your eye on that mileage. 10-12K a year would have been a much better deal.

I got a quote for a 2012 m3 that carried a sticker of $74,500.00 for $955 per month, 36 mths, 12k per year. Out the door is first month plus a few hundreds for T and R
And that's without any special promotion that BMW usually runs.

The purchase price was 64,975.
Options/ Packages Included:

-S34 6-Disc Package (Nav, 6 CD/DVD Changer, Voice control, 10GB Hard-Drive, In Dash Memory Card Slot, Gracenote Media DB, SiriusXM Traffic/Weather, Zagat)
-319 Lighting Package: Bi-Xenon, Adaptive, Headlamp Washers, Active Curve.
-993 Lane Tracking Package: Blind Spot/Lane Keeping Assist.

I would assume the rest of the features (Performance/Handling, Comfort Convenience, Safety, listed on the window sticker are standard on all C63s.

I agree about putting nothing down.. doesn't make much sense. Especially given the fact that I am "renting" the car in a sense.

I am not thrilled about the 7500 per year, but given I put 13k miles on my last e92 M3 in the course of 31 months, and pretty much the same on the z4m roadster, I think I'll be ok.

thanks for your insight, and btw, I see your posts/car in a lot of these threads, WOW... Maybe I will someday be "up there" with u bro!
SWEET RIDE!!! Wow I love the red!!!!

Sweet deal..
The only things I would ask you is:
-Did you have the option to lease a 12'? Being that you got yours in 12/2011, weren't the 2012 models out? If so, I would think that MB would offer a little "better" deal on a previous year's model, no? (Maybe I'm wrong)
-Also, did you get the optional First Class wheel/tire insurance? I believe that alone was about $2,170 for 3 years. It may sound like a lot, but believe it or not, when I had my m3, I went through 6 tires in my 1st year, and 9 tires total.Boy was I happy I had the insurance(Tires only though. $600/3 years) Each tire wouldve cost me $400 and change...Keep in mind I live in the NNJ/NYC Metro area.. the roads here are just plain ridiculous!!! I hate it. So I'd rather drive with the ease on my mind that should I hit a bad pothole, or a nail/road hazard, I'm covered... So I got it

On the 7500/year thing. I agree, having the mileage on my mind kind of sucks, but hey, in looking at just the 19 days that I've had her, I've only put 225 miles on so far...about 11 miles/day? My commute to and from work is a total of only 10 miles. I don't go elsewhere much, plus I have my 4x4.

All in all, I appreciate your input, that was the whole point of my post.
I wish you all the best with your C63.
Oh! being that you're a fellow leaser, do you plan to mod up your car? I've already put the Cf rear window spolier (I know.. Rice ) but hey I'm asian? Lol.. Also, just ordered my clear side markers. Any other "not so crazy suggestions?"

Nice meeting u.. Look forward to seeing u around.

#AMG!!! I'm lovin it!

Wow.. Now that you break it down "all technical" (the way it should be),
I guess I got pretty jacked

And agreed!!! and can I ask you for a small favor? Could you come with me to the dealership when my lease is up and help me negotiate my next deal?
I thought I was pretty good at cutting a deal, but in reading your response, WOW, I need a guy like you to represent me next time! hahaha...
Yes, I do have an AWESOME (to say the least) car to drive and enjoy for a decent price that's not ludicrous for me.. I'm no rich guy at all, but I work hard, and am blessed to be able to afford a car like this. Growing up, a car like this, or even my past ///Ms were just dream cars. I count my blessings and am very thankful everyday... I'm 35, now, and I dont plan on stopping anytime soon....

It's some of "You ALL" as well that keep me motivated, some of your garages and current cars are SICK!!! And I would hope that "You ALL" see that as well, because I most CERTAINLY do!!!

Thanx again, look forward to more discussions, and maybe meet some of you someday.. Happy and safe driving!

This was the choice I had with my last 09' e92 m3... Either lease for about 1100/month, OR to... and Check this,
I put NOTHING down (besides taxes/fees)with a 5 year finance on a $70K car with a BALLOON PAYMENT at the end of the 60th month of $23K.

I was paying $875/month ($225 less than a lease)... in which I only put 13K miles on it after 30 months... I sold it for 52K, and the payoff at that time was $46K.(12/2011)

So in retrospect, I saved with the putting NOTHING down, avoided the high monthly payment if I were to have leased it, and walked away from it with $6K in my pocket. Not too shabby..

However, ss for the deal I got into w this C63, not much I can say , besides the fact that I absolutely love this car, period.
I "liked" my e92 m3, but I can honestly say that this C63 is in a total different class "to Me" when it comes to the "WOW FUN Factor". My M3 doesn't even compare... Maybe it's bc I came out of an 07' Z4M Roadster, which I also totally LOVED..But that said, IMO, the e92 M3 just didnt cut it for me. It felt so much heavier and bulky compared to the M Roadster, and didn't feel as nimble or agile when it came to "road feel". I'm probably wrong about this "technically speaking", and probably just didn't push my m3 as much I could have, but I just didn't trust it..why?? I guess it will just remain a mystery that I don't plan to try and figure out... I tried long enough for 30 months, and something(s) about it, just wasn't for me. It just felt like at low-end RPMs, it had no torque, and even at high RPMs, it just didn't feel like I imagined it would and should have felt, being that it was the"///M-V8" with 400+hp with a 8400 redline... it just screamed, but with no satisfaction on my end as the driver....
By no means, am I trying to bash BMW ///Ms now that I have got into an ///AMG, no, not at all. However, just from the few hundred miles experience in my C63, I can truly say that,"THIS, is what I have been looking for"... furthermore, "WtH was I thinking for the past 10 years??? Were ///AMGs always this EXCITING and BEASTLY??" (I never even looked at nor test drove an AMG to that point).
And if so, I shamefully admit that I have fallen victim to the sayings,
"AMGs have NO CHANCE on the track vs the Ms", or the YouTube comments, "Yeah, bring it to the track, and see who prevails!!" brainwashing by BMW enthusiasts that are sore over the AMG superiority over the Ms in power...

Sorry for the books that I'm posting, but I just LOVE my CAR, and I am now PROUD member of the MB C63 AMG forum. Thanks for all of your comments and making me feel welcome.. Look forward to sharing and reading more stories and stuff..

Merc c63 AMG Coupe, Lexus LX450 Suv
my lease

Just to chime in...
Lease payment 1010/month
This is for a new c63 coupe.
With multimedia, lighting, and designo leather two tone red/black.
This is with no money down, no other fees, no other taxes, etc...Also with the MB all inclusive-maintenance plan for 36 months.
Mileage 10K per year.
Plus tax breaks from work/leasing the car...
MSRP about 72K

I am in a smaller market, so I'm sure that has an effect.

I think your deal is decent, but by no means great.
I don't think you got "screwed', and would be happy, I am excited for you!!

I will be picking mine up in a week, and I cannot WAIT!
happy driving

Verrrry nice my friend.. I bet you're losing sleep like a kid waiting for summer break from school What color exterior???
& may I ask, when u say all inclusive-maintenance plan, does that mean you don't pay for your maintenance? WOW!

Also, I'm assuming no Development Package? So why is the car $72K? Are the coupes that much more??
And when you say NO FEES, TAXES, ETC, u mean you didn't put ANYTHING out of pocket?? If so, that's great!! I need to get into your line of work..
"TAX breaks from work/leasing the car"??? I'm jealous.. hhahaha...

ALL in ALL, I'm sure yo already know what you'll be getting in to in a week..
that said, you will NOT be disappointed (as u already prob know). However, what car are you coming from before getting into this BEAUTY of a BEAST?
I'm just curious... that's all. Furthermore, do u plan in modding it up, being that it's a lease? i keep asking that, bc I'm not sure as to what I want to do, and maybe, you, or someone knows better than me..

Best of LUCK with your new ride and be sure to post pics

Sticker $75k
$3500 down
$1k/month
15k miles/yr

Didn't beat them up too hard, just wanted to get the deal done and move on. Traded in my lease, it was smooth as silk, easy as pie. Loved not having to list the car for sale, deal with tire kickers, or give it a single thought. Really enjoying the MB lease program.

74500.00 sticker
2800 negative
0 out of pocket
1115 per for 60 months lease
7500 miles a year.
35k residual

I feel like I got dupe, was very excited and was not thinking straight during the negotiation process. (don't buy on your birthday and leave the wife and kids at home. :-)). I did not even negotiate the MSRP. I just rent it feeling like a baller, haha. But I love the car and it excites me every seat time. Actually, my only worry is the car going out of warranty on the fourth year. Hopefully the car will hold up since I don't drive much. I'm on my 4th month and I only have 1500 on it. Confirm or deny my being duped! (I love this threads, so informative)

Nice deal. To come anywhere near that price per month you would need to secure a 84 month loan at 2.5%. It can be done but not worth it.

Anyone who got under 10K-12K a year in mileage in my opinion got the shaft. 99% of leases at 36K miles at turnin after 3 years. These dealers selling 7500 mile deals are really making out big time on resale.

I would have talked you into the purchase rather than the lease.

Not jacked... but taken for a bit of a walk. If this is your daily driver you will most likely max out the mileage and it will be sitting in your driveway while you continue to make payments.

If not then you are in good shape. IF this is a weekend car or a few days a week you are good.

I have a 2010 and I only have 14K miles on it. I drive it about 50-100 miles at week these days at most. The first year and a half I drove it 12K miles!

Enjoy her!

Thanks man. Have built a good relationship with the GM and he put together the deal, I negotiated a couple grand beyond his initial offer (technically 1500 or so wasn't much) but put a lot of trust in him and when looking at the numbers, thought it was pretty solid. Did make them throw in the little SL63 pedal car for my nephew

Youre right on the 7500 stuff. To those folks, try not to sweat it too hard. You're driving an awesome car, and what's a few grand in the scheme of things, just enjoy it!!!!

Well, considering NOTHING out of pocket (not sure what the 2800 negative means) it sounds about right. However, a 60 month lease is a LONG time!
I believe you can turn in your lease as early as 3 or 4 months before your lease ends as long as you get into another MB.

To answer your question, I think we both got duped, but as long as we are happy and able to afford it, the heck with it!!!hahahaha Enjoy

Didn't beat them up too hard, just wanted to get the deal done and move on. Traded in my lease, it was smooth as silk, easy as pie. Loved not having to list the car for sale, deal with tire kickers, or give it a single thought. Really enjoying the MB lease program.
Now why didn't I read this beFore I signed for mine?!!?
Very nice... is it a 2012???
Also, when u say, 3500 Down, that must exclude taxes and fees?

Or when you say traded in your lease, I'm assuming you had another Benz that you "traded" in? If so, how many months were left on it? I had no idea you could trade in a lease.. NICE!

Merc c63 AMG Coupe, Lexus LX450 Suv
Its February, sunny, and simply beautiful out! Damn I wish I could just pick up the car today...
Can't, need to get the insurance figured out. I have to give them 3 days notice so they can make the insurance policy.
What are you guys paying for yours?
For my two cars (Lexus lx450 1997) and the 2012AMG, it comes out to 1100/year total.
I did the geico quote first, and it was 1200, went to a local place, emailed them the geico quote, and said "beat this price".
Eazzy Peazzzy

Man the anticipation is building! Will be a big change going from a large, old SUV to this thing.
