Sounds like a monumental waste of $ at 1K, not to mention gas. I can only see it as being useful in really cold climates.

It works well in any climate. In the summers the AC cools the car down before you get in. Allowing the car to fire up and idle allows the oil temp to get up to temp a little more, allowing you less road time before hammering on the car. If you're worried about wasting fuel, well... You choose the wrong car to own lol.

I've never had a problem with just rolling down the windows during the hot summer months. As for "warming up" your car - everyone by now should know that the best way to bring ANY car up to operating temp is by driving it lightly as opposed to letting it idle for any extended period of time. Not to mention excessive idling can lead to premature cat failure.

That's all fine too, my thing is getting into a coldish car when it's out hot and a warmish car when it's cold out. Not running it for too long (i think most remote starts will shut off after 10-15 mins anyway), basically just so make the inside a little more comfortable than the outside.

It's for my own comfort, I'm not doing it so i can go WOT right outta the garage, lol
