misfire and check engine light
Wondering if anyone could share a similar experience and a solution/fix.
My brother and I both have 2012 C63 Coupes. They were fine for the forst 1500km...but since break in, once and a while, when he starts his car the idle is very rough like it is about to stall, and if you start to drive it sounds like a pit speed limiter and is very slugish. The check engine light comes on. Then if you turn it off and on, it usually goes back to normal, but the engine light stays on for about a day.
He took it to the dealer 2 days ago and they traced it back to a sensor for the fuel system and reset everything and said it should be fine. Well, funny enough, since they reset everything he gets 12l/100km on the way to work in "C" mode rather then 16L/100km before the reset...so maybe it was running way too rich before...however, he started up his car this morning and had the same problem again.
Hopefully one of you has some insight into he can givbe the dealership rather then multiple visits to correct the problem.
Thanks

Just had a brand new 63 on test for the day and after parking up for half an hour the idle was rough and it felt like it was an electrical fault, similar to a weak spark. Dealer said a software update has just come through for it and problem is solved. I'll try again. Mind you that may just be sales talk!

Took delivery of a new C63 6 weeks ago; it was back in the day after with a misfire. The coilpack on cylinder 5 was replaced and appeared to solve the problem. 3,000 miles later and it's back at Mercedes with the same problem. This time it's the coilpack on cylinder 3. Apparently MB are aware that there's a problem and are working on a fix.
