maintenance costs
was wondering what are the maintenance costs like for the c63. I understand that its still pretty much once a year like other vehicles.. but the actual costs are higher.
I tried searching for this but came up with nothing.
I'm in Canada if that helps.
thanks

Service A is like $250 for me - Im in northen NJ, near NYC.
Service B was like $350 but I think I got a discount actually.
My 3rd service (another service A) was $250 again. Brake fluid flush was also recommended for $150.
I believe at my next service I will need brake pads as well as a tranny fluid flush. The transmission flush is appx $300 at my dealer.

I think the service on this car is expensive. Getting your Service A/Bs is one thing, but don't forget to add the cost of new brake pads which are like $500 for a set and about 1 set of rear tires per year...

Generally speaking, I reckon that A & B routine service costs are OK, so you needn't worry about any "routine" servicing.
It's only when you get out of the "regular" stuff, or if you had a repair/maintenance issue out of warranty, that you might find things expensive, but probably no more so than any other car of this calibre.
Cheers, Pickles.

A service at the dealer is a joke. $140 and hour to check my tire wear, brake wear and tires.. come on. If you wanna lite your money on fire take it to the dealer for these services...
Otherwise find an independent Benz shop to do your services AKA oil change for like 1/4 the price.
Brakes are a big thing on this car if you have perf pkg (2 piece rotors)... But you can just throw pads on the rotors if they aren't warped and get a lot more usage out of them.

Some of us do a little more driving then others (like me.. at around 100 to 120 miles a day). The services get very expensive at that point, and are not once a year or so, rather every 3 or 4 months.
Things you can very easily do yourself..
Services A (over priced oil change at the dealer)
Service B (over priced oil change at the dealer, but they also replace the cabin air filters.. this is tricky, but can DIY'd)
Brake service (rediculously overpriced at the dealer for something that takes about an 15 minutes on a lift, and is actually very easy to DIY, I have done it, the majority of the time is jacking up each corner of the car and removing the wheels.. easy if you have a portable lift at home though..)
That said, my Service A's cost me around $80 to $90 (10 * $6 for oil, oil filter, I forget the cost, but I think its like $18 or something)
Service B is slightly more expensive since the cabin air filters are stupid expensive at like $60
I forget the price of the intake air filters, but they are not too bad.
As for the brake service, a $60 pressure pump (one time purchase), and an hour or 2 of your time will allow you to bleed your brakes. Buy pads and rotors online, much cheaper then dealer. Pads are literally drop in items, very easy to replace, the caliper is held on by 2 bolts, remove, and the rotor comes off (might have 1 screw, I forget), but the rotor is mostly held in place by the wheel..
None of this is very hard, and good to know.. in fact, these are things every person should know how to do before being permitted to purchase any vehicle (okay, I'm being funny here.. but it cannot hurt)

I'm currently at 60k miles on the clock.. I have only had the car for 2 years.. it came with 14k, so I have put 46k miles on a car in 2 years (sigh.. being a consultant in the DC Metro area can get a little pricey when it comes to driving around.. and no.. I do not get to expense my gas )

maintenance costs of an amg have scared me away for a few years but i've always driven high performance vehicles (svt's, corvettes, etc) and i think if i don't take it to mercedes themselves to get service done, it won't be any more expensive than what i'm used to. well, besides rear tires. synthetic oil can only cost so much right?
