Picked up a C63 the other day

Hello,
Sunday I took delivery of a CPO 2009 C63 in Steel Gray / Black interior. The car has 40,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition. I must say this car is a hoot to drive. I come from Japanese cars but I've owned a BMW 3 series and currently own a '00 ML 430 as the family/tow vehicle for my race car.

My previous car was a 400hp Evo that ran on E85. The wife hated driving this car with the big cams, cold start issues with E85, Manual, etc. Buying the C63 to replace the evo was my compromise . I think I'm the one who one in this deal!

Here is the only pic I have of her so far.

I must say I'm a little disappointed with the COMMAND system. Does not interface well for iPhones (contacts, bluetooth streaming, charging). I've ordered a few devices to get around this.

I'm usually a fairly active member on automotive boards so you might be seeing me on here often.

Yes I do. I have a 94 Del Sol VTEC that is a road race car for NASA Time Trials. However, it no longer has the B16 and now has a built B18C. Didn't expect anyone to know what my name was.

lol, awesome.

Good to see some ex and current Evo owners here. Love my Evo too but I really have no use for it and the insurance is expensive for both cars. I've had that thing for 8 years now. This is a mighty fine replacement though.

Just an update..

For getting the contacts into the COMMAND i got a PCMCIA -> CF card reader (16gb) from Frys to store some music on which is nice. I had to use this memory to transfer all my contacts from Outlook to vcard and save them on the memory. Then in COMMAND you can import from the card. Getting the contacts from Outlook to vcard format was not trivial, however a few google searches sorted it out for me.

I got the following device off ebay which now allows me to charge my iPhone 4 in the car.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/220987083960...84.m1439.l2649

I also got this device to allow bluetooth streaming. It looks similar to the other popular device people were buying on here that is no longer available. I had tried another device that did not work. I'm able to skip songs on Pandora and Slacker, but does not show the titles in the dash, only says bluetooth. Oh well, this works. Shipping took a little over a week from South Korea.

hmm, that looks like the "AnyStream" device I tried, but didn't work for me.

Do you plug it into the charge adapter?

I remember the guy at anystream telling me it wasn't working for me bc my connector didn't have the correct number on pins, maybe that adapter you have does

Anystream was the name, I couldn't remember.

Yes, I chose this because it looked just like the anystream.

I have it plugged into the ipod integration cable in the glovebox that came with the car. It works both directly plugged into it and through my 5v->12v adapter I'm using to charge the phone. I leave my 5v->12v plugged in though.

Congrats on C63.

I had an Evo 8 RS. I loved it. Man was that car fun, until I got the insurance bill every month. I was 23 and living in a large city. Scary expensive to insure! I do regret selling it though.

Every time you get on a highway with the Evo, it felt like you were on the BEST ride at the amusement park.

The C63 costs more to insure than the Evo! I will miss the Evo, I will put her up for sale later this week. I'm in the process of putting her back to mostly stock.

Here is the epic saga of the del slo.

http://hondaswap.com/civic-del-sol-e...thread-499811/

Be careful what you ask for. Should take you an hour or so to go through it all. lol.

Motor is currently a 200whp 1.8L B18C. The B16 is on an engine stand right now.
