Hi everyone, i just bought a new 2012 c63 coupe, it's still in break-in period. i have been driving for about a week and about 600km now. i have a question, sometimes when i step on the brake, it will make a very very high pitch sound, but not everytime. and when i park my car in my garage after work, there is a weird smell coming from the back tires. its still in the break-in period, i never go over 3krpm or go faster than 130km/h. is this normal or the break has some problem?

mercedes calls this grazing the brakes... search for it.. many threads on this.

other people can jump in with their pov for the smell... i would guess its just your rear tires getting chewed up. C63s are notorious for eating up rear tires

it happens to my new 63 as well.. they claim as normal..I am planning to switch a new pad

Mine did this and then became quiet after a few thousand kms.

same ! normal ! they recommended is hit the brakes really hard from 70 or so on an empty road .. not gonna lie, it did work ! for 2 days or so ! its weird but give it a try. as for the smell, if its not from the tires cause ur driving ur baby like a maniac :P, then its probably a layer of coating manufacturers put on the car's underbelly .. this will burn off the first few hundred miles which is normal ! break in basically
