Great Kill Story!
So today I was out getting a few groceries when what seemed like a heavily modded Dodge challenger (had HEMI 345 badges –whatever that meant) rolled up to the left of me at a light. The driver about 35-45 male has the windows down and is casually revving the engine every now and then. Admiring his car but seeing how crappy his brakes were I shouted over to him “How much power are you pushing with that?” He looks over straight-faced and goes “More than youll ever have kid!” This really made me laugh so I threw it in to RS and was ready to let him eat his words. As I press the gas to hold the revs I see him glance over like WTF! Light changes and we were off and within a few seconds Im 3-4 car lengths ahead. Since the speed limit is only 80 I went a bit passed and then put the brakes on. He passes me going well over 100 only to stop at the next light. When we were stopped at the next light I go “Hey! I though you said that car was fast hahah” He goes “That’s why you couldn’t keep up when it counts, right! Your fourwheel drive might give you the jump but with so much power my car will always plow ahead once the tires hook!” I couldn’t stop laughing and just let him floor it off the next light while I accelerated slowly.

What an idiot. 4WDs and AWDs actually make the car harder to launch right, why else people mod their GT-R from AWD back to RWD for real races. But again, you really shouldn't street race with so little head room on the road, especially against those bone head idiots. Victories are hollow when you will never convince them that their highly modded POS is still a POS no matter what.

I actually like the new 2012 and above chargers and Challengers.. They have an interesting form factor.. that and both come with a 600+ hp optional supercharger (not sure whether it is street legal or meant for the track only).
That said.. I have never understood why they use such small brakes, even in the Corvette Z06 parked in my office parking lot.. tiny *** little rotors and pads...

i will desagree with you on that, because i have a heavly modded Audi A4 Quattro and i love launching it.... the only problem is that most of the time my stage4 racing clucth won't hold if i launch it at 4500 RPM.
i will take any rwd car off the line

I guess you didn't know that Dodge is part of Chrysler and not GM. That Challenger platform is a modified MB chassis.

I love the "more power than you'll ever have kid" comment. For all he knew you had a 6.2L V8 monster under the hood that was ready to tear his car to pieces, oh wait, you DID have a 6.2L MONSTER under the hood and DID tear his car to pieces
P.S. I would assume the HEMI 345 badges were indicating he had the 345 cubic inch 5.7L Hemi which would mean 372 HP is more power than you'll ever have

American cars are built cheap and cheap quality material, even the high end models

Why don't you even out that argument and say Dollar for Dollar? Oh right...That wouldn't work in your favor. I would like to think that we are all enthusiasts here, but unfortunately, there are those among us that are blinded by the emblem on the hood.

its not about the emblem on the hood...the price i paid for my c63 the options were many....viper, vette, porsche, for that amount could even get into a 1997 ferrari 355....but just to compare i have a 2004 chev venture van, and a 2001 Audi A4 both in the same price range new, and the quality of the material and just the way things are put together in the Chev venture is disgusting, as much as i dislike Japanese cars i rather drive a jap than an american....boght my wife a lexus SUV, and next year gonna trade it in for a ML

this guy probably had the R/T Challenger, not the SRT8, and that is slow, but the 5.7 is a more modifiable engine due to thicker cylinder walls. They are freaking boats though. Id rather drive a CL550 then a supercharged srt8
ACR viper.. another story
