Seatbelt issue

Does anyone else have any issues with the driver's side seatbelt? Maybe 1 out of every 6 times I try to pull on it when I get in, it's locked like when you pull it to hard/fast. I have to try to push whatever slack there is back into the top part and try to pull it again. Also, the buckle is a little finicky about how the tip goes in so that it locks, otherwise, it never clicks and it won't buckle.

I never had a problem getting the tip in the slot (Try the veal, here all week)

And I think stopping when pulled hard/fast is what it's supposed to do.

Not fast like in an accident, just quick. When it's stuck, the speed doesn't matter.

I have the issue occasionally. It happens when I pull the belt a little too quickly when I am going to belt myself in. they are designed to lock, you need to cut (in an emergency) or let some of the slack back into the system to release the locking mechanism.

Also, and I am not sure about MB vehicles, but many vehicles use a ball bearing type mechanism that when you brake hard the forward momentum moves the bearing forward and causes the belts to lock.. may also occur when you are parked on a steep hill nose down. This last bit is a little speculation as this mechanism was in use years ago.. not sure if it still is in use, or if it is an electrical sensor now.

I thought about it and maybe something is happening when I release the seatbelt and it retracts too quickly. Like the buckle rebounds when it gets to the top and the seatbelt things it's being pulled quickly so it locks?

In any case, I should get the buckle thing looked at since it won't clip but at a specific angle.
