A few RENNtech’s ECU and X pipe questions
First off, I am the proud owner of a used 2011 C63. I purchased her with only 5,200 miles. I absolutely love it!
I want to upgrade the Car to have the same HP as the wife’s 07 CLS 63 with 507 HP. I was looking into the RENNtech’s ECU and X pipe. The ECU I am Ok with, but the X pipe is listed @ 2,400 dollars. WOW that is a lot of money for an x pipe. I know they call it a "Sound and Performance Pipe" but still that is a lot of Money. Does anybody know why it costs so much and more importantly any reviews on it?
Thanks,
Robert

Their headers are not Longtubes as they are listing. Thier Xpipe is overpriced and is not any diffrent quality than that of Supersprint or Caragraphic. you can check out Supersprint and caragraphic if you want quality and power.
As for headers, one of the best you will find for this platforms and that showed substantial gains on the dyno are the MBH Try-Yi longtube headers. Now thats worth paying for. I have them on my SL63 and love them, I also have the caragraphic catless downpipes.
SuperSprint have a full Exhust system that you should consider. i have thier system on my C63 and it sounds incredibly amazing.
MBH have a full 3inch Exhust system with an Xpipe and you can get thier matched tune with it and your car will be a racing champion
Anyway, my advice is just to stay away from Renntech

2,400 for an X pipe - wow. We have SuperSprint's axle-back, cat-back or full exhaust available for great prices. Send us a PM and let's discuss your options for an exhaust

Just a small correction here.... RENNtech has 3 separate types of headers for the C63. They have the regular shorty headers, they have a custom mid-length header, and just recently they started offering full long-tube headers with and without high-quality cats. This may not be well-detailed on their website, but it is easily verifiable by talking to them directly.

$5,800 LTH's w/o Cats (plus $950 for a flange kit) total = $6,750
$7,740 LTH's w/ 200 cell cats
Who comes up with these ridiculous prices??

The ECU is 2,200 dollars, after doing some “research” and have found them for 900-1,200 dollars. I thought Renntech is a name brand so you pay a little more for the name. I also noticed the difference in “claimed” HP numbers.
I don’t mind paying for more and or better but after this thread and doing more research RENNtech is more way expensive.
I have found RENNtech, OE tuning and Eurocharged so far, all with good review and results.
I am really looking for a company local in So Cal to tune my car. I want it be be smog legal. Does anybody dyno tune your own car for the C63? That is the way I had my Viper tuned and it was only 450 dollars.
Thanks for the help and advice,
Robert

You can visit Weistec Engineering in Santa Ana since your in Cali. They can custom tune your car for any Exhust mod you have. They made substantial gains on an M156 NA E63. In addition, they were able to pull an additional 30whp of a P31 C63. They are extremely proffesional. Talk to Steven from Weistec, he will help you.
