temp. gauge wacky?

temp. gauge wacky?
This started to happen recently, and it only happens sometimes. I have a 2012 C63 Coupe.
I will be driving the car, its all warmed up, the temp gauge is normally where it would be after you drive for a while (a little over half to hot) and then when you go to the AMG menu in the dash the temperatures are normal and consistent. Then out of nowhere the temp. gauge the meter will drop down to the middle spot of the temperature, but the AMG temp menu still shows things are the same.
Anyone else getting this with the temp gauge?
