Reading a Carfax
I'm going to be looking at getting a used C63 in the next couple of months and have been leaning towards CPO since private party makes me a little squeamish. That being said, I've been looking through a lot of Carfax reports to get an idea of the cars history and they can be a bit confusing. What are some things that you might consider to be red flags in an otherwise clean report? For example, I've seen some people own their cars for only a couple months or cars sit on a dealer lot for several months between sales (if multiple owners). Is that a huge concern? Also, I've seen cars for sale that are CPO that are otherwise similar option wise and miles, but being sold for vastly different prices. What would cause that? Is there that much of a quality difference in CPO, or are some dealers really that inflated? Thanks for any answers you can give.
