X pipe
Guys, I am trying to buy an X pipe (secondary cat delete) from Brian at GT Pro (Ronal now) but he is sold out of stock and needs a min order qty of 5 to get some more made. Anyone else interested in this X pipe?

I don't think there is anything too magical about xpipes. Virtually any decent exhaust shop will have one. They do not need to be custom for a c63. Just need quality material and a good welder.

i agree 100%....xpipes are not hard to make if you have an exhaust shop with at least half the brains of a doorknob

I assume if I went to a ghetto muffler shop they could do the same for $400 with non-stainless and ugly welds.
Then again I been to exhaust shops that do work for $100. So who knows lol.

If you can't get 5 people for GT-PRO then check with Mike from MBH for their X-Pipe. They are a sponsor here. MBH motorsports is his username.
or try Dyno-Comp as they sell his pipes. http://dyno-comp.com/

I think the reason why the GT Pro and MBH X pipes cost more is because they are reversible and TIG welded (more labor intensive and cleaner then MIG welding).

If the sponsors don't have anything and you want, I could get you one made up if you let me know if this is for a stock exhaust and where on the system you would like it?
Wont be stainless steel though. Just regular steel, but painted with 2000F VHT ceramic paint.
It would have to be cut and welded onto your stock system too.

My local tuner shop quoted me $700 with labor just cause it is custom fabbed and all SS.

that car sounds perfect IMO. so this would still have the first set of cats, then the second set are replaced with a mbh x pipe and then straight pipe is welded in the spot of the resonators - correct?
what's the cost of the x pipe?
edit: i'm not familiar with the exhaust steup. are the resonators justtt after the manifolds in this picture? for some reason i thought it went manifolds, two sets of cats and than resonators

Yes, I still have my primary cats.
All that's done to the car is MBH 2ndary cat delete X pipe + resonators replaced with straight pipes.
MBH X pipe is around $680 resonator delete was around $90.
The resonator is placed right before the 2ndary cats and after the mufflers.

the resonator is before the muffler but after the 2nd set of cats? how come in the stock exhaust picture i can't seem to see it? or is it inside the tubing? should be right around where it looks like there is mounting brakcets (after 2nd set of cats) right?

ok guys, this should explain everything for you.
So... replace the secondary cats with an MBH x-pipe (or whatever x-pipe you want) and then replace the resonator with straight pipes. Easy, cheap, and sounds PERFECT!

ohhhh ok. i thought it looked like two sets of cats one after the other because the cats and reso looks very similar in that pic. thanks for taking the time to make that clear.

Ok, will the Magnaflow x pipe that I replace the second cat make the car not pass smog? I've already heard no..... dang... yes, Im in California.

Dont think it will pass visual inspection but should pass the sniffer test. Deleting primary cats is were it gets risky.

I'm in NorCal and I very much doubt you'll pass smog without cats. I was pretty close with the Agency Power setup, but not good enough. Luckily, I had Rob @ Vivid manufacture midpipes with cats that I could just drop in anytime I need a smog. You may have to do the same thing unless you permanently want hi-flow cats.
