2012 C63 Coupe. Eurocharged, Charcoal Filters Removed, R-S3 Tires
X-PIPE OR NOT X-PIPE???

I need your help everyone. I have a dilemma to have x-pipe installed or not on my 2012 C63 Coupe. It's not P31 but I changed air filters and did Eurocharge ECU tune. So the end result besides the extra 65hp is a bit more barky sound. I'm also about to install the x-pipe but I'm afraid that I will get my sound "Mustang" louder (less barky and more noisy).

So many posts on this....

Remove secondary cats, replace with X pipe. Remove resonator, replace with straight pipes.

I know I red about it a lot but the question is what is the sound like. When you watch it on youtube it's never really exact same as when it's live. Plus one of my buddies got himself 2010 P30 with x-pipe installed and its more noisy and coughy than barky. Although I don't think he has straight pipes, just the x-pipe.

So this is the question: Will the sound stay the same AMG barky and just become lowder or it will smothen out the barkness and goes louder? Thank you for your help.

P.S. Just don't want to convert my AMG in Mustang.

When it comes to car exhausts, everyone I know has a different idea on what is loud, what drones, what is barky what is this and what is that and therefore how do you tell from someone’s description if you’ll also like or dislike it.
And YouTube is a waste of time for exhaust files as the sound quality is only as good as the equipment used to record it which in most cases is sh*t.

Maybe you answered your own question after hearing your buddies 2010 P30.

Personally I’ve never understood why AMG manufactures these cars with such quiet exhausts.
If you are listening AMG, louder cars please.

Trial and error is the way, try it and if you don’t like it, change it back.

An X pipe will smooth out the exhaust, tone wise. It will cut down on bark and gargle as the pipes are crossed and flow smooths out.

this. i like the bark and gargle so the xpipe had to go. i'm thinking about going straight pipe though if it's not too loud, but i wanna wait until hearing it in person first.

Ditto. I miss the barks and gurgle after installing mine. Can't really feel the power diff either but my brain tells me the power delivery is smoother.

Here is the answer! Thank you very much!

I guess no x-pipe for me.

P.S. In regards to power. I'm not sure if you did your ECU but I just had my Eurocharged plus air filters changed by the same guys and I was blown away with the result. The sound is more (15%) barky, transmission way more (100%) responsive, car has transformed from big strong wrestler into light & quick ninja!!! Dyno results: HP-412,5 and Torque-391 on wheels in pretty cold conditions. Total gain of 65-75hp. THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!!!!!!!

I will appreciate big time if you keep me updated on the result.
I'm ready to do anything to make this car louder without compromising the barks

I'm actually running K2 (Kleemann tune and exhaust manifolds) with an X-pipe.

using the "search" feature will get you better/more answers next time.. But check this thread below. I also have 2012 and the x pipe and resonator delete is your best option!

Not at all under normal driving or cruising. No drone at all. The only time you hear the exhaust is when you gas it like stock.

Hey nova....I actually live in Toronto and you can come by and hear mine if you like. So far I've only did the rest delete, and removed the charcoal filters and I love how it sounds. Next is the EC tune.
