No sound coming from the car...MB figured out problem
After disconnecting my after-market stereo, and the sporadic problem of "no sound on startup" (i.e., no sound coming from audio, navi, etc.) and it reading "no device detected" still occurring, we narrowed it down to an MB problem.
Well, with my stereo disconnected (by "stereo" I mean the Audison Bit One and the amps), MB was able to still see error codes indicating something was wrong with the Command Unit. This wasn't enough to definitively prove it was the Command Unit, so, instead, they swapped out mine with another identical one, and have me driving around for a week to see if the problem re-occurs. If it doesn't, then we know its the Command Unit (which apparently runs around $5k out of warranty) and it will be replaced under my warranty.
Just a heads up in case any of you have this problem and your service place cant detect it!
