Need some input/advice/opinion

So my cousin is looking to buy a 2009 C63 for his son. He found one in Houston that we went to look at. It's an 09 with about 33k mile on it. Looks to be in good shape with the normal wear and tear. He wanted me to drive it to compare it with mine to see if there was anything different about it. The car actually drove great. Nothing I could tell that would make me think something was wrong with it.

Ok here is what I noticed that has me slightly concerned. The ticking noise coming from the engine is a little bit louder than mine. I know they all "tick" to some degree but this one was louder. The sales guy said it just needs the oil changed (he could be right). The other thing I noticed is that at idle when I lifted the hood and was resting my hand on front side of the engine (on the plastic piece above the radiator) I notice the engine was vibrating quite a bit. But the car also seemed to be idling fine. Weird. Couldn't tell where the vibration was coming from. When I got home I checked mine and it was smooth hardly any vibration. Any thoughts of what it could be? Thanks for any thoughts.

The vibration and ticking at idle is normal to some degree, however if it really vibrates to an extreme, the last person who changed the oil must of overfilled it for it to be vibrating too much.

I would check the oil level.

The ticking is the lifters and it should go away after the car warms up and oil is dispersed.

I would never consider a used performance car without a thorough check up by familiar mechanics. Spend $300-$500 and walk away from trouble ( or get a safe buy).
