Does it make sense to get an extended warranty?
Hi all,
Thinking about a 2010-2011 C63, and curious if any of you "wish" you had an extended warranty, given the cost of things that can break on these cars.
I have an extended on my ML500, and it's "paid for itself" as it covers everything but cosmetic issues.
However, I know rotors, among other things, can be fairly expensive on these cars, and just wondering if you had the option, would you pay for a warranty that covered "everything but cosmetic" (like a broken windshield, curb rash, etc.,)
Weighing this and the S4, although I don't think it's a fair comparison. Curious how much extra the insurance will run for this bad boy ?

They’re much like any insurance policy. You’re betting you’ll need it while the underwriter is anticipating you won’t - with your ante.
Your ML’s payouts read more like comprehensive or prepaid maintenance.
Wear items such as rotors are seldom covered under MBUSA, CPO, or other “extended” C63 warranties.
How much did your agent quote?

my wife bananas! :D
i have a MY2010 c63 and i went for the extend limited warranty from MB. Its really an insurance policy but the stuff it covers imo is well worth the price we pay. Plus its my DD and i will put alot of mileage on it.
On a side note, wifey's 1yr GLK had its tranny replaced. That 10k+ invoice was covered with her new car warranty... whew! The ELW will give you that piece of mind for 2 extra years.

2009 C63
i recently hit my 50k and opted for the extended warranty (although not thru MBUSA because they wouldn't let me ). i got it mostly for piece of mind, as i haven't really had any major issues with my car.
but i was doing a lot of research and it basically looked like it will pay for itself easily with your first major repair.

Let me know how it goes with any extended warranty claims - curious how MB deals with them - I'd imagine if everyone receives the same customer service for extended claims, it's safe to say MB doesn't relinquish on the customers who paid for this peace of mind. It'll be my DD too, so it'd be great if MB follows through without too much hassle
Thx all!
