The dealer says that my C63 have more power!

Hi guys this will be my first post here! I have just bought a C63 AMG -2009 Performance packadge! I know that the car in stock have 457bhp but the dealer that i bought the car from says that my car have more power from the fabrik! I really dont belive him but he is reafaring to the TUV papper that the car have that says: AMG Software gem type 209 AMG, version T378KO! As you can see in the picture! Does anyone know what this meens and if the dealer have a point?

If you have the P31 package then yes, you do have more power then a standard non P31 C63.

Your right, the 2009 and early 2012 C63's had the P30 package.
You probably have a factory freak motor.

If it's not a photoshop then your car seems to be "upgraded" by AMG

This is an official german TÜV-document

K = 373KW / 6800rpm ~ 507 crank hp

T = topspeed 300 Km/h

You are right it is a Official german tuv! The car is on its way to sweden now and i will have it in about 10days!

I have never drive a C63 so i wont be able to know the differense but does any one knows little more what this AMG tune is all about? Could any one that order a new C63 pick this option? And if yes why didt every one do it :-)

Then if the car have 507 bhp it meens that it have more power then a C63 whit P31.

Im a little confuseed now and i hope some one have a little more info about the AMG tune that my car seems to have!

Thought all newer C63's with the Performance Package were P31 (no TB limitation, some forged SLS internals, etc.).

Common now guys! Someone have to have heard about this that seems to have been done whit my car? No one knows what kind of tune AMG have done whit my car and if it is a common tune?

Bring it to the Dyno. You most likely bought a used car that has a tune on it. If that is the case make sure it is documented at the dealer you bought it from otherwise they will say you did it and void your warranty if you bring it in for repairs.

Very easily checked. If the ECU has been opened. Its tuned.

That invoice or receipt doesnt look like an official MB or AMG document.

All TUV is that its a certification of "kosherness". It's not AMG, affiliated with AMG, or sponsored or made by AMG.

So just because its a TUV printed receipt, all its saying that the aftermarket tune complies to certain standards accepted and deemed whole buy the tuning industry.

Most likely you bought a car with just an aftermarket tune. Enjoy.

The car is bought directly from Daimler Christler in Germany and they say that it is a 100% stock MB tune :-)

C63 BS= 373kw :-) Maby that could be a hint?

I think the first owner of the car that also was a boss at MB some way paid extra and got the BS software in the car!

and then you woke up....


Take a trip to a dyno shop. If you are showing higher than stock numbers pull out the ECU and see if its been opened. If it has open it up and hope it isnt covered in epoxy!! JK!!! LOL. If the ECU has been open take it to any tune shop and they can plug it in and read the file and it will have something in the code that states what tune it is.

The TUV paperwork shows it was passed in Wetzlar, Hessen County, are you buying this car from the MB dealership in Wetzlar ? This TUV paperwork more than less tells me that it is an aftermarket tune. I know were the MB dealership is, been there before, I had a 190E 16v from them many moons ago.

The reason no one has heard of a "special" AMG tune is because one doesn't exist. My bet is an after market tune.
