Wow!! Holy brake job quote!!
My 2010 has over 63k km and my SA said I will need brakes soon. So I said sure, give me a quote, while I was getting my $1200 b service done!!! I nearly fell over!! $5900 for a brake job, (including taxes!! ) wow!! The front rotors are the killers at $1700 per side!! The rest are high but expected!
Wow!! Has anyone done this job? Not to crazy about it, considering my current brakes squeak like crazy! Not sure if I want new brakes that squeak!

Don't know if I believe this but rotor is only listed at $122 at parts.com.

I'm in Toronto, and a little known fact, was that with my '09 you could get free brake replacement for the first 2 years and if the car had less than 40,000 kms....
As soon as my car hit 39,000 kms i took my car in and got a full brake job done free of charge.
Not sure if the same offer was extended out to the '10's

Buy your parts from the USA and have them sent up here. After recieving the parts, go to a idie shop and get the work done there. That's what I did with my CL65. I saved over 50%.

You have to drive really hard, or hit up a few track days, to wear out the brakes in that period. But ya, free replacements.

Are you sure yuou need rotors already? Did they measure them out and show you? The minimum rotor thickness is stamped on the outer edge of the rotor.

That's nuts!!
You can get Evosport, ACG or Benzworks 2 piece rotors for alot cheaper.
Around $4,000 cheaper then what the stealership is charging you.
+1
That would cost a **** load!! Then again CC rotors have 4 times the life of iron rotors.

MB’s
To put it into perspective breaks on the normal W204 runs about $1,200-$1,300 for all 4 rotors and pads at the dealer. Of course the AMG breaks being different and all but $5,000 does seem pretty high. However, it is a dealer your dealing with. I would find a indi shop to do the work. Tons of them are fully capable including mine to do modern AMG's. That, or call another dealer and get a quote. Maybe even upgrade your breaks to something better then OEM for the same if not less. Autohauz.AZ has them and also not sure what they do in Canada but maybe they have something similar to the MBCA(Mercedes Club of America) where you get % off at the dealers.
~Have to pay to play unfortunately.

Find a good indy to do it. It's not rocket science. Be happy you don't own a Porsche with ceramic brakes. Rotors and Pads, just the parts, cost $20k.

^^ I am in Etown too
OP:
I can pretty much guarantee you don't need new rotors. Its the performance package two piece rotors that make the brake job insanely expensive.
I got the same quote give or take a few hund on my brakes... So I took the wheels off and measured the rotors with a caliper myself and there was only 1mm on wear with 50K km on them. They are good for 3mmor so of wear. The min thickness is stamped right on them.
I bought new pads (Porterfield RS4) from formymercedes.com and had them installed. They work great. I've used them at the track and they worked well out there too. No squealing and no dust.
But if your rotors are warped and the brake is pulsing this wont work, you will need to have the rotors machined first if there is enough meat.
Brake job total cost: $420

Like other have said, I would check the thickness of ur rotors.. U might only need brake pads. The dealer always love to change rotors for no reason..well for money. Lol

I don't see how you can make such a claim considering it's not your car and more importantly, you're not driving it. Brakes don't last forever and to be perfectly honest, going by your calculations, I find it extremely hard to believe you`re going to get 150K kms. out of your rotors. Either you`re measuring it wrong or you do a TONNE of highway mileage.
I literally did my front pads & rotors just yesterday and although I`m sure I could have held off for another 5K if I really really wanted to, I figured I already got 70K out of them, I may as well replace them now. And contrary to what others have said about MB dealerships wanting to stick it to us, my indy shop confirmed that my fronts were done after they pulled them off the car. And no, my indy shop did not sell me anything because I brought all my own rotors & pads.
Which brings me to the OP`s question. I do not have the 2-pc rotors so I was able to bring the cost down significantly by ordering my rotors through getmercedesparts.com. Like someone else mentioned in this thread - $127 per rotor! Brake pad wear sensor ran me $15 and I went aftermarket on the pads, opting for Racing Brake ET500 pads at $230 for the front set. Total cost breakdown:
Rotors & sensor - $340 shipped
Front pads - $230 shipped
Labour (indy shop) - $140
FYI, replacing the rotors on the C63 is no different from any other car so that quote you got from that dealer is still very high - go to a reputable indy shop, I`m pretty sure you`ll save $200 - $300 on labour.

I'm a tech and i have a 09 C63 and some of these dealers in Toronto are insane. At my shop i would have to charge you like $150 for the install just because it's not my shop (the owner does have to pay bills), but at my house or yours it would be FREE my friend. You'll see and learn how easy it is to do brakes on these cars and the next time you might even try it yourself.

Not a problem, but it costs 2 beer for watching . That would be a good idea....maybe even record it for the DIY guys on this forum.
