I still think 12mm is a bit understated. 10mm you will wish you went more. JMO...

Looking flush now... you make me regret selling my OEM 18's. I just didn't like how sunk in they were, but spacers would fix the problem. How safe is it to run spacers in the long term?

Off topic: Is it the reason why you sold your OEM locks cuz you need longer bolts?

Ya sold the locks cause when you add 12mm spacers you need 12mm longer bolts. So the factory locks no longer fit.

I've never heard of any problems running good quality spacers long term. If anyone else knows different please chime in. I'd like to know

LFM,

nice set up. Are you running stock size tires (235f, 255r)? And have you lowered your car since?

LFM is in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest cat skiing right now, the poor batsard. I can tell you that he is running stock sizes, and he has put KW v3's on but they weren't on at the time of those photos. He was just riding stock at that time. I'm running the same set up but in a p30 on H&R's.

Tough life. Lol. Thanks for the info, 604. I was wondering if it would stick out too much with 265/245. The 12 mm looks great with stock, but since I'm getting the wider size rubber, maybe I should go with 10mm(?).

This is my favorite spacers thread... it was so helpful when i was in the market for spacers & xtended lugs... thanks to LFM Vancouver & 604 C63.

Well, I was told the 12mm in the rear cause rubbing with the OEM tires (255/30)... so I'm glad I went 10mm in the rear, it sits perfect with the 12mm front.

Hope OP wont mind if I contribute by posting few pics of my wheels with spacers here, so ppl can see when they search for this spacers thread...

looking nice and flush and not wanting to hijack but I have H&r spacers and longer nuts which came off my car when I switched over wheels if anyone's interested. 10mm and 25mm (2 of each)

Flushness is nice. But none of you are concerned about kicking up more debris onto the body?

would dunlop 245 40 18 F and 275 35 18 R fit on coupe with H&R springs with 15mm front and 12 mm back spacers? I'm in a bind and the tires were just about free.Anyone running this set up?

ddcha, I don't think spacers will affect the dirt in the rear bumper that much as our cars attracts lots of dirt in the rear area to begin with.

Well, my HRE are the same flushness in the rear as my OEM with spacers... and so far so good.

mvagusta, my guess is you will rub with 275/35/18 with 12mm spacers in the rear. I would try 10mm first. The front should be ok although very close if you are drop on H&R.

I assume it would rub on the fender lip and/or the outer fender liner?

Thats gonna be pretty tight, and probably depend on the shoulder profile of your tires but Im skeptical about the rear especially. You're moving up two tire sizes there so....half of 20mm is 10mm extra (the other 10mm is on the inside of the tire and doesnt matter) + 15mm spacers means you are filling that wheel well 2.5 cm more or for our non-metricated friends - 1 inch. I dont think you can fill an inch there without rubbing.

The front may just work, but as Roswell said - all bets are off if you're lowered.
If you're lowered at all it just aint gonna happen. The tires were just about free so put em on, see how they look with the extra width, and go from there.

Roswell, LFM and myself all live in Canada. We have two seasons - winter and paving. Half the time the road debris is covered by snow like in Roswells pics, and the other half the time aint nothing gonna save you from the pot holes the snow created in the frozen pavement.

Seriously tho, it really isnt a problem.

Correct, his 275/35 will stick out past the fenders causing rubbing on the fender lip.

I agree with you 604 C63, 2.5cm is a lot for the rear... it will only work at stock height, but even that... if you have passengers it will rub over bumps.

roswell: your pic with the 10mm and stock rears looks perfectly flush. i guess 10mm with 265 rears would rub? i think it would stick out beyond the fenders, yet i know a lot of people here are running 10mm rears with no problems (?). i am on stock P30 springs, but i plan on lowering as well ...

According to oszlowa (Matt), u can run 265 or 275 with 10mm spacers, but u have to pick a tire with rounded sidewalls. Look at this thread, he posted very interesting infos:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ze-advise.html

He said my Yokohamas are running wider than other brand, so I think I will rub if I go from 255/30 to 265/30 Yokos.
