2008 iPod/Aux Question

I've got an '08 c63 and it has the ipod integration kit. i've tried using it, but found that I'd much rather just have the AUX cable. my mom's '08 c300 has it and it just works better with my ipod, because I can actually choose what I want to play and what not easier.

my question:
is this what i need to buy in order to have both the ipod and the aux option?

i know that the one part plugs into the ipod, but i'm not 100% sure that the other plug is for an AUX cable.

If you have the iPod integration option, then you also have the AUX input. It's just hidden behind the passenger side panel.

Holy crap, I have one there! I had no idea!

Looks like it was meant to come through the side of the glove box, just the hole was never made. Awesome!

I think most, if not all, come with it either installed or hidden...kind of like those blank, extra buttons on the console. I just used a double-ended cable to route it through the glove compartment.

thank you! i tried searching thoroughly before resorting to making this post, but clearly i'm an idiot. i guess i didn't realize that this was what i needed to be looking for, but thanks for the help!

Nah, you're not an idiot. It's not that well documented here and I scoured the forum for days. I just stumbled upon that thread a few weeks ago.
