Thanks for the help guys...Just purchased my car today. MSRP 71k. Got it for 64.4k+TTT. Of course they got me with the 1900 wheel and tire protection package since I live in NYC. I've heard it's not a bad thing especially when you drive alot here and do alot of parallel parking. Anyways love the sound of that big v8. Drove the car a little through NYC and seems like the car still attracts attention. I thought I could blend in with the other Mercedes in the city. I'm def not one to be flashy. Not sure how I post pictures on here otherwise I would post up my pics. can anyone help with posting?

Congratulations on the C63!

I'm sorry to tell you that you got bent over with no lube, for the wheel and tire protection package. Mine was offered to me for 850. I turned it down because I don't even use my 18's. If those are the wheels you plan to stay with and you drive into potholes and not around them, then it's a good idea.

Can you ask for a refund due to change of mind? Sometimes they might allow you to do it because it's within a few days.

Is that something thats been done before? How did they give you such a good deal. All the add on stuff afterwards they told me was non-negotiable...guess not? Apparently I sucked the life out of them from all the negotiations. At least thats what one of the people there told me.

Don't be too upset about Tire and Wheel protection. I paid $1000 for mine back in 2008 and it paid for itself twice. AND, I avoid pot holes (for the smart guy comment earlier). . I live in Houston and unavoidable screws and nails are all over the roads here. One piece of metal (invisible at 70 MPH) actually punctured my tire and went right through my wheel as well. Both were replaced under the warranty.

You did suck the life out of them and they had to look for profit elsewhere...nearly 10% off is a great deal, so they needed to make up for it with the 2k wheel and tire pkg. I would try to go back on it but they likely will push back.

Not aware of any trunk money deals for the 2012s yet, but they were obviously motivated to move the car as that's a great deal.

That's great that it paid off for you, but you have to remember he also didn't get it for 1000. He was told it was 1900 and that was non-negotiable (false). Not all dealerships charge the same price, but charging double is a little ridiculous. I never said wheel and tire protection is stupid, I just said I never took it up because I don't use those 18's. If the OP plans on going wider tires, that tire protection warranty won't cover those sizes. There are lots of factors that are involved in making the decision to go with the warranty, it just didn't make sense for me.

Those are the same questions EVERYONE should be asking when they make that decision.

I am a little upset about the outrageous price of the wheel and tire protection. Is there anyone I can talk to about this at the dealership especially when they told me it was non-negotiable? I feel like I can at least express my frustration after regardless of whether they reimburse me fully, do nothing about it, or give me a discount. Also they told me they were giving me all weather floor mats which they didn't include that day b/c the parts dept was closed.

you can always go back and cancel the tire and wheel package. they will refund you the money. I did it on my first C63.

I'm not sure if you read the details, but I think it will only replace the wheels if there is a failure to seal with the tire.
Which is a pretty rare thing but yaymitch would be the exception.

Other than that I think they will buff out as well as they can any curb rash etc. The tire thing is cool, but 1900 is pretty steep. I think I got mine for about 1200 here in CA, 2008. you can buy a lot of tires for 1900 plus interest.

You are most likely going to get a survey request in a few days (weeks), if memory serves me, that survey is initiated by the dealer, but the results go to corporate as well. Be fare with your answers, but at the same time you should be able to make your grievances known in it.

Dealers press people to answer all 10s, ( get the same surveys for my services/warranty work that I have the dealership do, the ones I cannot do myself), as those numbers do carry weight at corporate, how much, I do not know, but I suspect alot based on the pressure I have previously received to answer with high marks. Oddly, my MB dealer has never pressured me, Toyota on the other hand offered me free oil changes for a few years back when I owned a Hybrid Camry if I answered all positively.

When I bought my C63 as well (last month) the dealer also said that they now don't negotiate on these plans (extended, wheel, paint etc). Anyone else besides OP and myself that bought a MB lately where the dealer said this?

They also said they changed how the wheel and tire plan works as people before were taking advantage of it. (you can only buy it now at time of delivery and not afterwards)

Same, W&T, extended warranty were not negotiable. Its probably adjusted by region depending on claim levels. I wouldn't feel bad OP. Just aim for some potholes and ask for a 16 spoke replacement

Thanks everyone for the replies. So I talked to MB and they said it is non-negotiable and that their plan is the wheel and tire protection PLUS which covers scratches/curb rash so if it ever gets damaged I can come in and they will fix the rim.

yamibear-nice to know there are fellow members on here that go to MB Manhattan. were you there to have your car worked on? or purchase a new vehicle?
