Do not use Amerifreight as a broker or American Auto Transport as a carrier.
I had my car detailed before shipping in an enclosed trailer and it came back dirty, three days late and I didn't notice until I brought it to dealer a couple weeks later that they used black paint on the rear spoiler to cover up some scratches or something.

I was moved twice with IBM and they used Auto Relocation Plus both times, but this was when I had an Acura TL. Everything seemed to go smoothly both times, no hiccups or damage.

patriot auto carriers? any experiences? i forgot the other 2 companies i called today and seems the average price is $1,400-$1,600. enclosed. is this a fair price? any suggestions as well with how much to expect for shipping? i didn't factor this with the cost of the car (purchase)..

1400-1600 is what I was expecting for enclosed.. I have seen 800 for
Not enclosed from LA to east coast..
Intercity lines, seems to allow for packing in vehicle.. Not sure if that matters to you, but let us know if your transporter allows you to pack stuff in car Thanks in advance

1. Definitely go with an enclosed carrier.
2. Seriously reconsider driving it yourself. There are some great things to see on the way and some great roads to hit. I had a lot of fun getting "acquainted" with my new baby on the 800 mile ride home.

^^ thanks.. was actually considering this.. got a friend that'll be coming with me.. fly there late friday night.. there's a hotel near the dealership.. i haven't closed the deal yet with the internet sales guy.. i'm still looking for similarly priced cars close to my location.. it seems P30 with the CF interior trim sold me on that car at Spokane.. all other cars here didn't have the P30. if all goes well next week, i'll be planning for the road trip.

It's in the manual, but I think it's like 17.4 gallons. I totally cross-referenced GasBuddy.com and Google Maps. If you're strictly cruising at, say, 80 mph, you should be able to get almost 300 miles to the tank or about 20mpgs.

+1. I did a cross country road trip in my BS from Cali to Florida. I stopped at a few major cities along the way and had a great time. The best deal I was offered for enclosed transport was $1300. I made the trip and spent only around $700 between gas and lodging. Anything over that amount was for fun.

Vdubpower, good suggestions.. I will look into those..
Nellyrod, I am about to make similar journey.. South Carolina to Vancouver. Debating on what to do.. I calculated at least 1000 for gas an lodging so not much different than enclosed. Also, did not want to drive by myself.. Worried about falling asleep

we are not planning for any major stops.. maybe just to eat (no eating inside the car!! hehe) and gas and pi$$.. i hope this car can hold the long drive of about 2,100 miles virtually non-stop (as per google maps, it's 1 day and 9 hours).

Not necessarily the cheapest, but if you want quality and reliability for your baby, they are among the best if not the best.

I bet it's because the insurer wouldn't cover anything damaged that is not part of the car. See if you can install the 55" TV into the car and I'm sure it will be good to go.
