rotor corrosion cleaning?

rotor corrosion cleaning?
take a look at the pic below. i'm sure there are others who get this. i'm 99% sure this is due to tire shine/wheel cleaner. the local guys that do hand washes love to apply the stuff liberally even though i specifically say "easy on the wheel cleaner" lol. any suggestions on what compound/product to use to clean this off?

Looks like a light coating of rust to me. Rotors are iron they do rust. The protective coating on the hat has degraded allowing that surface to rust. In fact the wheel cleaners may have damaged the coating on the hat and in the slots depending on how corrosive they are. I don't think there is much you can do.

oi, i was hoping that wasn't the case. thanks
edit: just took another look at it. pretty sure you're right.. couldnt I just take some CLR and a fine scrub pad and carefully wipe it down or would that ruin the rotor? its only on 1 rotor too.... the others are fine. this actually pisses me off quite a bit. i always wipe it down with water as best i can afterwards too

Clean them to remove the rust and paint them with black Brake/Caliper paint. Just make sure to plug the holes.
OR you could upgrade to 2-Piece rotors.
