ALL C63 BLACK SERIES SOLD OUT
Congrats to those who got a hold of one of those babies
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe is officially sold out. The German company confirmed this to Dutch magazine Autovisie. A total of 800 pieces will be build and shipped around the world. This is a higher amount than they initially intended.
At the release Mercedes-Benz only planned to build 650 pieces, but due to high interest, they decided to increase the amount with 150 cars. Overall demand for the model is much higher than 800.

Recession? What the hell is that?
Awesome ride, 800 people should be enjoying them.

The owners and dealers control the market price on these, the C63 that was on ebay (white) sold for 150, and it didn't have ALL the options.
I would not sell it for under 160K thats what it is worth to me. I am fine keeping it, but I may think about a sale at 160. I can also export it, and get far more then that, I am bound to a contract, but selling it to my brother will release me of that liability, and then he can in turn sell it to an overseas buyer.
These cars prob won't be sold for MSRP. There are too many people willing to pay a premium, I've gotten a few offers already.
I had my 1998 supra for several years, and sold it for MSRP, years and many miles after. So I know it can be done with a rare specimen.
I am sure all the other BS owners would agree, but I am sure a large majority of people will cry foul. It is what it is.

Resale will start tanking in a year or 2. They wont hold over MSRP forever. People get bored and will look for the next new toy.
Look at the CLK BS, and the SL BS. Both were insanely priced for a while, then tanked. Although with only 70 in the US, the CBS might hold value a little longer. Depreciation is inevitable, it'll happen eventually haha.

I've heard 26 units are in the states. Lots of orders were cancelled without notice.
I believe only 2 in magno alanite grey, and both of us are on this forum.

Not sure how to verify the exact count....
The owner of dealership I went to is close friends with the CEO of MBUSA, and it is from them where I got the 26 count. That connection is how they were able to get an allocation even though they were not slated to get one, and that connection is how they got carbon onto my car, as most orders had the carbon unavailable by december orders.
I guess until we have an official statement on this, nobody will never know the exact figure. I'd say my info comes from pretty high up the chain.

we sold one and traded it back a month later at a loss of $50.000(NZD) for the customer... he went for an ML63 in the end... this is the C:
shows they are still a car in the end... Only took a day to resell it though, and NO it didnt sell for over MSRP

A 50K hit still places that car at a premium, and albeit it didnt sell for MSRP, I bet you sold it for 200+
I recall you posting this:
"still cheaper than the 3 we sold here in new zealand... NZD 250.000 each"

yes you are spot on, but none of the cars we sell here are at the same pricing as they are in the US, and sometimes thats hard to explain to customers... a c63 coupe with performance package sits at NZD192.000. of course at 200k this still sits in premium class, but I just tried to say that not all the cars are being sold for more than they went for when new.... at least not here in NZ...

LOL we have RHD cars here though... Keep your car! Its incredibly special to own one and its hard for an enthusiast like me to see em leave our showroom... its easier for the others who love the brand but don't have the same connection to the cars as me... It's mainly taxes etc that make cars more expensive overseas...

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
G'Day from Oz.
Was in at my Dealer today....saw my first Black Series...it was a black one.
The car had been purchased, & driven for 175ks, then returned to the Dealer, who repurchased it for the original price......for what reason I have no idea.....but the car was then sold again today for $10K over the retail price, as no more are available!
Cheers, Pickles.

For the lucky ones who bought them knew, enjoy the new beast. It is a great car.
For the less fortunate or those who do not mind waiting and not take the hit for the first year depreciation, we will be happy to buy one for $80K in about a year.
Depreciation on AMGs is as fast as their accelleration.
