2012 C63 AMG Coupe
Newbie...sort of.

Hello everyone,

I'm Mike, aka Driver_8. Just bought a lightly-used 2009 C63 in Black over Black. It's nicely optioned with the AMG Performance Pkg, AMG Seating Pkg, Multimedia Pkg, 19" AMG wheels and Premium 2 Pkg...and of course that badass 6.2L torque monster engine.

Allow me to explain the title of my post. I mention that I'm a newbie, sorta. If I remember correctly, I was a member on this website about ten years ago when I had my first Benz, a '99 ML430. I couldn't remember my username/password so I'm a new member again. Looks like there is a lot of knowledge and camaraderie in here.

I've driven BMWs and Audis almost exclusively for the past couple decades. I've owned 10 BMWs along the way, including a couple M3s, two X5s, a 750i and several 3-series and 5-series. There have been a few Audis in there as well: a B5 S4 (TT V6 6sp), a B6 S4 (V8 6sp), an A6 2.7T (6sp) and a TT 225q Roadster. My first (and up until recently, last) Mercedes was the '99 ML430 I mentioned above, which was a very disappointing vehicle in many ways.

Back to the C63. This car is incredible...it's simply nuts how much torque it has and how furiously - and quickly - the power comes on. I've wanted one of these since the first time I heard one started on the dealership floor in 2008. I never forgot the sound of that car. It stayed with me. When the opportunity to buy one came up, I jumped at it. I love how competently it comports itself, but when the road gets curvy, it doesn't back down. It doesn't have the wooden steering of other Benzes I've driven. This car handles quite well for a big-block German muscle car It makes no excuses...nor does it need to.

I've included a picture of my C63 below and also one of my other car, a 2007 BMW 328iC. I've not driven the BMW since I bought Godzilla. In fact, I just listed it for sale.

I can feel a powerful addiction coming on...

Cheers - Mike

Congrats on the C63 and welcome back.

The power addiction is a strong one!

Keep a close watch on your wallet the C63 will try to drain it....mods, gas and tires.

It has probably begun. First step was to get rid of its competition (the 328)

Welcome back! After you've driven it for a while, get a tune and pick up another ~50hp or so and you'll fall in love with it all over again.
