Only on a friday!
So of course I get a flat on my new tires (month old). Heres how I went about it:
2:45 - get off work looking forward to the weekend
2:46 - turn on car
2:47 - notice my rear tire is flat
2:50 - search/call for a place to fix it friday evening (harder than you think!)
3:30 - put on my spare
4:00 - get to the shadiest car shop in the loo
4:15 - plug the tire
4:20 - make sure it will hold 42psi
4:25 - get charged $19 for the s1ht to plug it
4:30 - Rip it home!
1. Do you think it will hold up?
2. Is there something else I should've done?
3. Is it worth getting a new tire?
Thanks guys! -sometimes annoying things happen... don't let it ruin your day. (Im getting ****ing lit up tonight cause I should )
ps. looks like that tire warranty could've come in handy! HAHA

Had the same happen to me about a month ago, JUST put on new PSS' on the front, didn't get flat, but I heard a click, behold there was a nail! Got it "patched." Held up well, tire shop said it will hold up as long as the tire does. It was also in the center of the tire; you shouldn't have a problem
I'll take a shot of patron in honor if your wounded tire tonight, be safe

It's always best to patch it from inside vs plugging it.. But u should be fine. Just monitor that tire for the next couple of days.

Should be fine
Sidewall integrity not compromised
If u do mount it check with soapy liquid around the plug for telltale air bubbles as well as check cold pressure with reliable gauge for a few days
Appears u r getting a bit of uneven wear on inner tread
Since it's a rear what psi have u been running..

I think I have you beat. When I put the Star Specs on my car I literally turned out of the tire shop and got onto the highway (about 1 mile) and managed to get a roofing nail through the sidewall before the next exit. FML

Not sure where you're located, but if you're in the US with a Discount Tire / America's Tire nearby, go there... They will remove the shady patch job and do it right from the inside of the tire. Should last for a long long time. Just don't track your car with a patched tire.

Thanks for the help guys! I took it to SimplyTire this morning and had it properly patched from the inside. I feel a lot better about the durability now haha

Some tires have a warranty against road hazard, so long as you don't use a tire plug kit. I can't believe you got a nail right in the middle of your tire. Of course, I had to replace my tires a month or so ago because there was a gash in the sidewall. No idea how it got there.
