ive been shopping around for a little while now for a used C63, and my thinking is as long as the carfax is clean and the car still has some factory warranty left, there shouldnt be too much to worry about ... do you all agree? i am aware of the head bolts issue, but i figured i could try to get those replaced under the service bulletin or if they break before warranty ends, then that's taken care of as well.

Yes. Have you also considered a CPO vehicle? Most, if not all bugs should be 'squashed'. Plus you get a carfax, 1 year additional warranty with up to 100k miles with a chance to buy an MB extended warranty if you so choose...

Yeah, I like CPO as well, but trying to keep the price down. Apples for apples, CPO costs a a few thousand more than non.
