Keyless go retrofit?
I found a C63 that has my interest - I've gotten so used to the keyless go in the CLK, I was wondering if it can be retrofitted to the C with new keys and popping the button where the key goes...?
I know - fat chance .... This is a Benz so I'm sure the motor mounts have to be changed to retrofit keyless go......at least it is not in the shifter knob like the CLK, so I just thought I'd ask on the off chance it is plug and play...
Thanks

Yes you can, MBenzNL has done this on a few MBs. Prepare to tear your whole interior apart and it's probably more cost than you'd want to find out. The amount of money you save on this "deal" is probably not worth the offset of just finding a C63 that already has it from the factory.
Edited to add:
It's not as simple as installing a module and buying that button. You need brand new door handles, probably a central controller of some sort, and likely a new ignition. IMO not worth it- find one with it already.

Just want to chime in about Keyless Go's availability. 2009 and 2008 MY of US C63s do not have this option at all, while at the other parts of the world it's available. So if you want Keyless Go in the States, don't try anything before 2010 models.

Got a C350 coupe as a loaner with keyless go....it was interesting but not any were close to a must have. A back up cam is more useful is you have money to burn on convenience features.

my wife bananas! :D
just wait for one with keyless go. It's a must for me personally. I've been driving a loaner glk without this option for the past week... and since I'm so used to having keyless go ability (like yourself), this little inconvenience really sticks out like a sore thumb.
You want your c63 to have all the toys you desire, if you're already thinking about aftermarket options to install one, it's important to you then. There are tons of c63s out there, go find one with keyless go.

I don't really like the keyless because all my keys are together and if I don't keep my key in my hand I'm gonna lose it lol.
+ the car thinks that my thumb is too small when I try to lock the car.. lol.. I have to use two fingers lol

Keyless Go is WAY more useful than a backup camera. Most of us on here have been driving for well over a decade, as have I, and I can't think of a single instance where I wished I had a backup cam. Whereas Keyless Go is one of those luxuries that you instantly miss as soon as you don't have it.

I love my backup camera! Far more useful than the keyless! No need to look back anymore, and no more bumper kissing!
The keyless. I personnally just use to unlock the car and start it.. To lock it, I'd rather use the remote, it's faster than holding the handle for 2 sec... lol

I went from a 2010 without Keyless Go and rearview camera to a 2011 with both options, and I have to say I love BOTH options and wouldn't buy a car without either if I could.
That said, neither of these options is anywhere near the quality that you will find on some other cars. I have had both keyless go and rearview camera in the two Infinitis I have owned since 2007 (M45 and G37S), and there is a day and night difference in the quality (Infiniti is far superior). The rearview camera on my Infiniti shows the predicted position of my car based on steering angle - VERY useful when parallel parking (at which I suck!). Keyless go also works a lot better in that car as it has a small rubber button that you push on the door instead of the temperature/touch sensitive operation that can take some getting used to (and is constantly triggered when washing the car).
Overall, MB's implementation of both these features feels cheap and like an afterthought vs. the really high quality integration on my past and current Infinitis. But I would still buy a car with these features over one that doesn't have them any day!
Keyless go - Convenience and safety (faster to get into car and start in emergency).
Rearview Camera - Convenience (not as much neck bending ) and safety (obvious).

well.....i guess it does not matter because the car got sold before I could toss an offer in on it....
I know Im gonna have to compromise. I want cloth seats, P1, P30, posi, lighting, keyless go and heated seats. Preferably in Sahara Beige. That does not exist The one item that is hard to give up is the keyless go (after the cloth seats) because Im so used to it...
I found a white with cloth, p1, BiX, but it sold today.
thanks anyways.

Thanks. I tried to order a Sahara Beige C63 with cloth seats and P31, P1 and BiX. They told me they needed a $10k non refundable deposit because if I backed out, they would never be able to sell the car...

Way to state the obvious Einstein - yes, that's what the little keyfob is for. FWIW, you don't need to hold onto the handle to lock the car with Keyless Go, just give the small sensor a quick tap and it locks instantly. It's obvious to me you haven't been driving all that long because for us old-timers, cranking our necks to back up is kind of second nature. Besides, have you noticed how poor the camera quality is on the MB system? I wouldn't be counting on that thing on a rainy night, that's for sure.

Well, I don't know why, but when I give it a quick tap, it won't lock.
Regarding the camera, I don't know if the CL has the same one as the C-Class, but I'm very happy with mine and the quality is excellent.
