c63 coupe creaking in the rear
Hi everyone
New here on the forum and new to owning a MBZ .
First off i love this car, its an absolute beast! Only have one problem and thats the rear of the interior has some kind of creaking /rattle noise which seems to be getting more and more consistant.
Anyone else have this problem?

Yep... the one bad side of the C63 is the squeaks and rattles inside. I have a similar creak in the rear. I will eventually take it in but the issue is it isn't consistent and will be hard to find. The centre console also squeaks like a motherf&cker. I am actually very surprised how bad the C63 is compared to my last 2 BMWs and 2 Infiniti's. I expected a more solid build inside rattle wise and it seems many are having similar issues with the 2012 refreshed interior.

I had this on my E, always thought it was coming from the left back seat and/or back headrests .
.... I did many things simultaneously so I can't be sure which was the correct fix, but my bet is on the Shock absorbers; my dealer tighten the nuts up.
Also I had the back seats revised and every nut and bolt tightened.
PS, yeah I know it may not make sense since mine is 2008 .... But I had this similar noise ( I Could swear it was coming from somewhere inside) in my Audi TTS, and at the end was something in the shock/ suspension that needed to be tightened.

I haven't noticed any creaking in my 2010 and I am going to go as long as I can not trying to listen for anything. Otherwise if I do I might end up noticing it all the time like a dead pixel on my PC monitor.

my 2012 coupw rattle in the back, I also have a rattle or tick sound on top of my dash too. I press down on the top of my dash on my driver side and it some how goes away. I went to the dealer, they can't find it. filler and all? My car is lowered and spacers, so I guess it's going to fet worst. My e -92 coupe (m3) was solid, it's disturbing that AMG would let this comprimise thier cars.

I was thinking it was the speakers or something in that area? Let us know thanks.

I just brought my car in today for the rear creak sound and a noise coming from the navigation area. I've had MB address this two times prior and they were unable to fix it. I drove with a tech today and he verified, that the noise was there and he said it should be able to get fixed.
He also mentioned our cars have hard suspensions and in the heat the plastic parts expand and contract and it causes some creaks from the interior.
My rear noise starts when the car is hot after about 20-30 mins of driving and when the radio is blasting. I'm hoping the tech can fix it! I'll keep you guys posted.

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE my C63 but it is the most creaky, squeaky and noisy interior car I have owned since my North American car days. All cars have the odd squeak and rattle but this car is non stop. You can also get a bad example but it seems that MANY people are having similar issues. Shame on MB.

I would ask your tech why other cars (like the M3) with similarly stiff suspensions and plastic inside don't creak and pop as much. That is a lame excuse in my books because if that were true every car would have these issues and based on my experience it is far less of an issue with BMW, Porsche, Infiniti, Lexus.

gthal I agree with you 100%, I came from an 08 corvette z06 with headers, exhaust and cam and it had less squeaks and rattles then c63 coupe.
I do think its a great car overall and it gets a lot of attention from people. I just wish they did a better job with fit and finish on this car.

I have been kicking and pounding my dash and my back speakers. I also had many high performance cars. I'm happy I counldn't get a hold of a black series, I would of been mad about spending 120k, such bad refinement in the interior. I also still love my coupe, I dropped it with H&R's and 12, 15 mm spacers. It looks so wide and good looking at the same time.I'll put up with the niose, I just hope they don't get worst with time.

so the creaking noise was the sunroof, turns out when i put it open the noise goes away so some kind of rubbing was going on. Now i got a rattle in the speedo cluster that comes and goes lol

Noise
I thought that the noise was coming from the dash but it ended up being the rear view mirror, believe it or not. I readjusted the mirror and the noise went away. There are still 2 or 3 other creaks in the car that I have yet to diagnose.

Just picked the car up from MB, and this is 3rd time the rear noise was addressed. Per the service manager the main tech at MB for squeaks and rattles worked on my car all day yesterday and claims to have fixed the issue.
I just drove it today and so far didn't hear anything but the day is still young. I'll circle back with everyone and give an update.

I thought they would have addressed the interior squeaks and rattles when they redesigned the interior for the 2012 cars. After seeing all the threads about rattles pop up in this forum, it looks like that is not the case. That is such a shame! Glad I didn't buy a 2012 in the hope of the rattles going away.
My 2011 Infiniti G37 coupe has a much nicer interior even compared to a 2012 C63, and it is rattle free after 10k miles and over one year of ownership.
A quick fix for all the rattles is to drop the rear seats and step on the gas. This car sounds like a race car with the seats down and makes me forget about the small issues in a heartbeat!
