Can anyone verify resetting a tuned ECU using this 4 step method?
So I applied the tune the other day and then used the following trick for resetting the ECU that I read about.
It really felt like the ECU completely reset and wiped the tune.
Here is a link to the OP https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...set-works.html.
Basically it's the following:
1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.
Can anyone verify if this trick really does reset the ECU back to factory settings? Maybe Eurocharged will know.
All I can say is that I flashed the tune to the car, applied the trick and the car no longer felt like it had power on demand. It was more like press down on gas pedal, wait for tv to turn on and then go. I never did like the little bit of lag after pressing down on the pedal cruising at highway speeds.
I drove it for a bit, reapplied the tune and BAM!!!!! The strong, crisp shifting was back and the lag disappeared. It makes me really appreciate the EC tune even more now.
