New C63 owner saying hello!

Hey Guys,

After going back and forth, i finally picked up an arctic white CPO C63 with 49k miles on the clock. Miles are a bit higher than what i wanted but the car is in excellent condition and i also purchased 2 year extended warranty and tire/wheel protection. first thing I feel like changing are the amber side markers. i feel they are a distraction and then also thinking abt picking up a CF trunk lip. any other suggestions? I wont be chipping this car coz i want my warranty to stay intact.
Glad to join the family!

Congrats! The mileage is high, but you should be fine as you are covered for 3 years. These cars are pretty well built, and if something had to go wrong, it would have by now and most definitely will while you are still covered by the CPO and extended warranty. One good thing about buying a used car with high miles is that you don't have to baby it or break it in .
Where are you located?

That was me 5 weeks ago (minus tire/wheel coverage)! Just Steel Gray, and 47.7K miles (CPO, 3 Yr Coverage total, high milage). Welcome! I already changed out my side markers with smoked lenses, and it looks 10X better, but the fitment could be a little better on the drivers side. Passenger side is fine.

May we ask what you paid?

My list of mods are light weight, but I'm not into overhauling a street legal race car:

- LED EyeLid Replacements (ANZOptics) ~ $35
- non-DIY- Backup Camera (LSEDI = Let Someone Else Do It) ~ $150 (Kenwood CCD-2000)
- Smoked Gray Side Markers ~ $50 (Opps .. not $25)
- AUX-In Audio w/Bluetooth connectivity ~ $95 (in progress)
- NAV Update to 2012 Maps ~ $15 (group buy)

Thanks amg4rl! Looks so much better without the distracting amber side markers! I am glad those aren't too expensive. For my Audi A5, i ve no option but to stick with the OEM's coz the ecodes (headlights without the amber) cost 800 bucks

Have them painted to match the body. Should be cheap. I'm also in the Bay and am trying to organize a meet. There's a NorCal owner's thread here, somewhere.

The bulbs are silver tipped so no fried egg appearance...but they still light yellow so still legal. Picked them up on Ebay, super easy to install, 10 minutes.

Sidebar: a Nav update won't mess with an ECU tune, will it?

Congrats and welcome. Same color painted side markers look really good with the Arctic White. The OEM plastic diffuser has to go. I would make that my first significant body mod. I have a Euroteck Motorsports CF diffuser which for me is the right balance for price (not ridiculous) and quality (very good).

Congratz to the OP on becoming part of the AMG family now.
Thanks OCJeff for the links to the modifications. It's the small details that make all the difference on this car.

...

I was looking at the car too and the black one the dealer had with those weird stock powder coated wheels.

While you were there how did that black one look? Lowish miles but the white definately seemed to look better in pictures.

It's not hard. AZNOptics are supposed to be coded properly so they don't throw errors. Also, replacing the lights yourself is easy as long as you don't have big hands or fat fingers. It's literally like finding the twist off "caps", pull out the light socket, swap the bulbs, test to make sure you have the correct polarity so the light turns on, and reverse the install steps.

yeah, i think we saw the same ones. Frankly speaking, pictures didnt do justice to the black one. when we went in, it was kept inside the showroom and it looked stunning. the black powder coated brabus wheels really looked good. but the price was a bit too much so i didnot pursue it.

Saw 2 black ones yesterday in WC...and there was a 2012 white one driving around earlier in the week.

No good, and the search continues for something better. Maybe the Blackberry....
