Question TPMS Question

Purchase a new 2011 a few days ago so give me some slack (I did a quick search).

On my EVO when you swap rims the TPMS need to be moved from the stock rims to the new rims and the dealer must recalibrate the TPMS.

With the C63 it looks like I can purchase new TPMS with rim/tire package and there is a setting on the vehicle to "relearn" the new sensors. Am I correct in assuming this or am I way off?

Thank You

Yep. Just go to your Tpms setting and hit reset. That will link your new tpms.

IS this work with any other after-market TPMS or have to be OEM? I have a wheel/tire packet with TPMS from tire rack. Please let me know and thank you.

I'll throw in a question on TPMS, too. If you swap tires without removing tires and TPMS from the wheels, will the shown pressure be incorrectly displayed?; ie, swap rear ones, and now the rear right pressure shown is now actually that of the rear left, and vice versa.

MBZ sensors self activate so it tells the car the location of each sensor. As long as you are using the correct year/model sensor, then swapping to another set should be seamless.

Is the info on dash display re: TPMS different for US cars vs Canada? Owner's manual mentions Advanced version for Canada. My US does not seem to display each tire's pressure.

Does anyone know where I can buy TPMS that will work with c63 (I assume it's the same as all w204)? Parts.com has the part listed for $106, looking for cheaper alternatives.

I only want another set because the wheels I got didn't come with them and I don't want to keep pulling the stock ones from the stock rims (which I use as winter wheels).

I'm also wondering about the same thing--about how frequently they need to be changed.

By the way, I wonder how much tirerack charges for the TPMS. I believe I read somewhere that Tirerack carries them, too.

So typically we just need new TPMS with new wheels?
