Not another head bolt issue - quick question
Done a search but could not find the answer!!
Does this affect all versions of the M156 motor regardless of factory "tune" ie as in the E63/ML63/SLS? Are the high output versions of this motor (ie with the lightweight pistons etc) as found in the P30/P31/Development packages on the C63 affected as well??
Cheers

Yes all M156s are affected before a certain date. The SLS wouldn't be affected because its newer and uses the new designed head bolts.
The P31 might be ok as it was released lately and may have the new bolts, but someone will have to cross reference that as I am not sure.

That is also my understanding. It's based on the engine #, not the car model.
Should be able to get your engine # from your SA, and have them cross-reference it with the appropriate TSB. I believe the range of engine #'s is noted in the sticky thread on this forum, too.
