Sigh.... went to deposit some $$ to my bank and needed to make a left turn. I waved a pedestrian to cross the street first as they have right of way. I obviously stopped... the car behind didnt stop. Driver just wasn't paying attention and hit my rear passenger side.

anyways, good thing, the pedestrian became a witness and there was actually a cop right there so I am at 0 fault. However, my poor C63







Anyone here able to eye ball what kind of damage I am looking at? and what kind of behind the scenes damage I should be aware of?

Luckily no one was hurt... but I am pissed off... lady that hit me first failed to see a car and a pedestrian on the road (she hit me like 3-5 seconds after I had stopped) and we were coming off a red light. Then of course she never asked how I was and never apologized... I actually went to ask her kids to make sure they are ok lol.... Markham... no wonder people here pay tons more for insurance.

Damn, sorry to hear about that. Make sure you get EVERYTHING checked out (suspension, brakes, diffuser, exhaust, fuel tank, tires, rims, tail lights, trunk, quarter panel, trunk, etc.) For just a new bumper and painted, I think you're looking at $3k easily. Possibly up to $5k if there's additional damage to other bodywork, NOT including any of the aforementioned parts...any of those would jack up the cost.

Btw, get your motor mounts checked just in case. I found that all of my motor mounts were cracked on my Acura several months after I got rear-ended in stop and go traffic on the highway. The speed wasn't that high, but I have a feeling it had something to do with it.

Sorry to see that Fung, I remember you just got your car back not too long ago. Ppl who dont pay attention to the road or txting and driving shouldn't be behind the wheel. I wonder if you could take it to a shop who have done wide body modification and claim that on her insurance?

That hurts! Sorry to hear about that, but it could have been a lot worse, and I am glad you are ok.

If you own the car, you should also pursue her insurance for diminished value since you will get hit hard whenever you decide to sell your car. It may not matter if you lease it.

I was hit 1 month after I got mine. Guy wasnt paying attention and rear-ended me while I was stopped at a red light. Luckily he admitted fault as no one stopped to be a witness. He tried to get me not to call the police and just go to the ATM with him for some cash.... I told him heck no good thing I did.

Total cost was $1,200 and it wasn't that bad compared to yours but the backup sensors and labor really brought the price up. And this was for repairing the bumper not replacement.

Also make sure to go after them for diminished value. Your car easily took a $5k hit in resale. I was offered right off the batt $500 but held out and ended up getting $2k from his insurance. But my bumper again was just dented in and paint scraped.

Also make sure the claim is filed via his insurance, dont even involve yours unless they give you trouble.

Did your airbags go off? why was the car towed? If the airbags went off then really seek diminished value, I know for me I found a person that all they do is write diminished value claims it costs around $150 or so if recall correctly.

Since you're going through insurance, get it repaired at the factory certified Benz repair shop at Finch and Weston...they are an awesome facility and give you a Benz Loaner too!

I had some warranty repairs done up there and they were awesome

You easily have $3k damage including new bumper cover, paint match, and repairs to underbody and brackets

If insurance is paying then get it repaired at the best shop possible with factory Benz replacement parts

Sorry to see your Benz in that condition, but glad nobody was seriously injured.

Stick it to her and her insurance company and take it to the best body repair shop you can.

Sry to hear about ur accident Tim, it must be very frustrating but on the other hand, I'm sure u can get smthin good from this.. Like more time at home with ur daughter rather than driving ur beast on the road.

Sorry to hear about the accident. At least no one was hurt. I can tell you that your closer to 7K worth of damages. As already mentioned, get it fixed at the best mercedes place possible. In ontario we have no fault insurance so get everything possible on the fix. Piece of mind knowing everything was fixed by a qualified person.

wow sorry to hear this Tim, especially you just got that rear bumper fixed! Glad to know you're alright though. But at least now you can consider the facelift tail lights etc.

I know your pain. Yesterday my car got hit by some flying debris while on the 404 heading to Markham, cracking my front bumper. I'll have to pay out of pocket for this. Good that you're going to be compensated by her insurance!

hey everyone, thanks for the kind words. Just finished a game of soccer so I feel alot more calm now lol..

Car is at Weston MB, I think thats the one that Callmiro was referring to. definitely going to get all new OEM parts. They gave me an E class loaner so that was nice.

As for damages and as far as I can tell....
CF diffuser is gone
bumper, rear fender is gone
sensors on that end is gone
there is an internal bracket to protect wiring on that end... thats gone
there was a rectangular piece on that side.. whatever that is, it popped out lol... so its gone
the rear light is broken
the trunk is slightly dented and scratched.. i'll be asking for a new one
I'm not sure if the actual frame got shifted, I do know that the trunk and the rearlight is off by almost an inch now
my exhaust tips are scratched / dented
not sure if there is damage to the actual exhaust pipes
I really jammed my brakes on impact so hopefully they hold up..

I'll definitely be asking for them to do a full inspection. I am not sure I can claim diminished value as that's pretty rare here in Canada and hard to calculate.

However, as bad as this all was, I am grateful... accidents will happen but under these circumstances, no one was hurt, I had a witness, police was on site and told me that I am not at fault, and that my family was not in the car at the time. That corner would be where my daughter would be sitting.

and I will ask about updating the head lights lol... I wonder if Weston MB will put them in for me

Painful to see that gorgeous car broken up like that, but great that no one was hurt, and it sure looks from the photo like the damage is not structural, so should return to "like new" condition.

I actually got rear ended the other day too at a yield sign, the guy didnt see me stop for traffic. luckily I had no damage on my car at all but the focus that hit me had a slightly dented bumper.
