What's wrong with my Keyless-Go?

When I try to open the door or boot by touch I can see a message in the car saying key not recognised. After opening by pressing the key buttons the Keyless-Go function works again. This has been happening on and off over the last week. Anyone with the same problem? Any fix? Should I bring in to the dealer? Thanks.

Are you keeping your keys next to your phone? That cuts the signal for me. Do not keep your keys and your phone in the same hand or pocket.

Hi Mate,

I had that. I put the key in the ignition for a while. Battery may have been getting flat?. Going great guns for a few weeks now.

Thanks guys! I have started keeping my key away from my iphone and other keys and checked the battery. Also put the key in the ignition as per Forrest Jim. Will let you know how it goes.

The ignition does not recharge the key, you would need to replace the battery.

This. The BMW comfort access (keyless go in mb lingo) does charge the key fob when inserted in the ignition, but the mb one uses regular lithium batteries and inserting it in the ignition does not charge it.
