Used C63 purchasing advice

Hey everyone!

I found a 2010 C63 I'm interested in with the following options at a MB dealer:
H73 carbon fiber trim
P02 premium 2
P31 AMG Dev
318 leather
320 multimedia
471 limited slip diff
889 keyless
Plus more he says..

It has under 10k miles on it and is being CPO'd I guess. When I asked what that included, the rep told me it meant it could be purchased with an extended warranty as well. I thought that was part of the point of buying a CPO car?

Anyway from what it sounds like, without an additional warranty they are asking just under $60k for it which sounds too expensive to me. I was wondering what you guys have to say and what kind of advice you can offer on dropping that price a bit. To me it's not worth that much when I know of at least one guy who just recently bought a fully loaded 2011 with P31 for $16k under sticker within the past month.

Thanks in advance!

KBB values that car at 58k being a CPO from a dealer. How much are they charging you for the extended warranty and what are the terms?

Yes
Way too much for a 2010, even loaded, IMO. It's now a 3 model year old car, is not even the current body style...for them to think it has only depreciated ~12k or whatever is nuts. That's a $50k car in my eyes.

I think around 55k is a fair price based on all the negotiating I recently did and location seems to play a factor. I had a deal locked in for 55k CPO on a 2010 with the exact same options on the east coast and they wouldn't budge another penny. Trying to negotiate and actually sealing the deal are two different things.

Kevin I'm the one you have been talking with on the other forum. If this is the red one don't do it the paint on that car is horrible. It looks like it was driven on a dirt track for 8k miles.

agree ... unfortunately location does play a factor in prices. If you like the car and after a test drive is still happy with it. Negotiate to a price you are comfortable with and drive it off the lot. paying an extra 1-2k over the life of the car isn't a big deal.

btw do look into ELW... imo it is good to get. GL

at that time, the dealer said they can't drop the price down to what i was asking.. i just have to stick to my budget and 55k is to high for me (52k was already pushing it).. i ended up getting an 09 with p30 in another state below my budget.. i'm satisfied :-)

Thank you everyone! Yeah this rep isn't being too helpful and given the price it just isn't worth it in my eyes. I'll just keep looking. I'm not in any rush, but when the right deal pops up, I'll be there!

Fung63- Thanks for the tip to look into the ELW.

slfmde- It's not the red one, but thank you for looking out

mgbrillo- Good to know! Thanks.

4ramin- I bet your car is pretty sweet, but I already have some modded cars and I want to keep my C63 stock. Only mod I'm wanting to do is rear LSD if I buy one without it. Thank you for your offer though!

USCGTO- Thanks for the comparison!

rory breaker- I'm thinking you're right about that and if I was to pay this much, I'd take a ridiculous hit on this car financially if I were to sell it soon because I'm sure others would think the same.

NellyRod- I asked the guy via email several times about the CPO and he never answered me regarding that question so I have no idea.

Yes, Fremont bay area. The car was for sale over here a few months ago by the original owner. I managed to being them $6k below their asking price of $63k.

I thought so! The numbers added up! The dealer advertised aggressively on craigs for few days. Congrats. Great color choice. I believe the original owner is also part of the forum!

2010 C63
I just bought a '10 CPO'd C63 from a Mercedes dealer for $450 over NADA average trade in value (tag, doc fee all of that included). CPO is nice but the value that nada and kbb gives for a CPO car is stupid. According to NADA average trade in on the car you are looking at is $53,450, so if you got it for less than 54K then you would have gotten around the same deal I got, which I considered to be a fair price after months of looking for the right car.

Note*** NADA adds $4500!! to the value of the AMG Developement package which I think is too much, I cant imagine that option adding that much value to a car in the resale market, but that just my opinion.

The CPO does add much more from the dealer, because they are forced to put new tires, brakes, etc before they can get the CPO. Every little ding or scratch is taken care of. It can never have any prior wrecks of any kind, so you never worry about that.

The CPO gives you 2 years warranty. Dealer probably is quoting you more years on top of that, which you can add for more money.

You can certainly find better deals, but with the CPO and the peformance package, fully loaded up (even that carbon fiber package), high 50's are about right.
