Final Word: P31 and Eurocharged Tune makes __ HP and __TQ gains?

Can somebody please weigh in who has had their P31 tuned with the newest tune from Eurocharged?

I have seen several people threaten to take their P31 cars to the dyno after receiving the latest Eurocharge tune and then they travel to the Bermuda Triangle or get eaten by Sasquatch because we never hear from them again.

Marco?

I witnessed one in the spring, so not the newest tune, a 2011 P31 gained ~15whp & ~20wtq & the torque graph was better overall midrange. I tried to negotiate a price reduction for mine, but no luck. IMO, not worth the bang for the buck.

Polo?

With the lack of responders, I am left to draw the conclusion that there are no real documented gains on the p31 with the new eurocharged tune.

Perhaps a few p31s took the plunge and are embarrassed by the lack of gains, hence no reports...

Question

I would suggest that post #3 is fairly close to the mark.
Being a new owner (like myself) the only thing that I could suggest to you is that, like everyone else should, you do your homework to ensure that if you do have your car tuned, the result is what you want.
Cheers, Pickles.

crazy1eye Is right on it, it was my car in March that got tuned, I would have to say its not a huge gain but I like how the throttle respond now and for what it cost, there is not a lot of things you can do to anny c63's to get some real results...I received my MHP headers that I should install pretty soon so there will be some more to come about what gain we could actually get out of P31. Take note that the only mods are remove secondary cats and resonator NO X pipe wich I will be installing with the headers. Stock filters and charcoal in airbox.***Not the newest tune***

Tune

While my car is not a P31, my car did come with a tune. I went with a Eurocharged tune (overwriting what was there). I gained 10 hp, but why spend the extra $$ you ask?

For me it was the throttle re-mapping and the changes in the transmission behavior. The power difference was not huge, but the overall drivability of the car was greatly improved.

so folk, there you have it... the Eurocharged tune does make a difference on the P31, as expected not as much as a non P31 but the gains are there

Any other p31s get tuned recently and actually managed to avoid the customary p31 post-tune alien abduction before getting to the dyno?

OH NO! I am about to have my face-lift 2012 C63 (with performance Package, the same as C31 i guess??) tuned by them while they are here in Hong Kong. So should I still??

However, if I add a set of longtube header to the package, would it change the whole outcome?

To be honest, I would not have gone for a ECU tune if it didnt bring much power gain (mostly what I want is a de-limit anyway!!! Unless with longtube + tune will make huge gain...). Does any one know and willing to share with us??

Question

Well, it appears then, that a tune on a P31 will result in around 14/15hp, plus some "driveability" improvements.
I haven't really discovered any issues at all with the driveability of our C63, so could some-one say what they might be?
Cheers, Pickles.

I have a 2011 P31 C63. I purchased a Eurocharged tune uploader about a month ago. Jerry sent me a V4 tune catless tune for euro 95 ron, 98 ron, race gas. The car was standard and I was running the 95 ron map. I must say the butt dyno can feel the difference. It revs quicker and sounds a little louder especially, the throttle blips on manual downshifts. Like everyones' guess, its not bang for your buck when you are starting with a P31. However, the big difference is the way the tranny shifts. on C mode, its smoother than standard. On M mode, the shift is a lot quicker and it gives you a kick in the back like the newer MCTs.
After 2 weeks, I put on the catless Cargraphic headers, midpipes + bmc filter. Still have resonator and stock exhaust. This is what transforms any C63s. The car is just mad after these modes. traction control blinks more often. i'm still trying to get comfortable with the power even with the 95 ron map. can't wait to race with those V10 M cars.
Guys, Any suggestion on what exhaust and which intake works?
