leather car seat care.. using meguiar's gold class leather wipes..
so i cleaned the car last night and first time i used the meguiar's leather wipes (on this car's leather) - the leather (black) looks all shiny and new.. this morning - it's not shiny (well, it dried up), but more noticeable are the scuff marks that weren't so noticeable before (specially in the bolster - driver seat).. it seems this wipes made the leather more dry(er)
any suggestion what to use next time? or even improve the looks of the leather (maybe to hide or make the scuff less noticeable)? i wonder what the dealer used when prepping the car for selling/sale?
thanks in advance.

You will get a ton of opinions on this but here is mine...
Duragloss leather conditioner, Lexol, Wolf's or Leather Masters. You would be happy with any of those brands IMO depending on how much you want to spend. I personally dislike the glossy finish cheap leather products leave in many cases (the Meguiar's wipes would not be particularly good IMO) as I prefer a dark, clean, matte look... not glossy.
Try Detailersdomain.com for some options. Don't forget to get a cleaner too... clean first, condition second.

i actually liked the non-glossy leather... i thought using these wipes would atleast 'hide' the minor scuffs in the bolster.. was surprised to see that there were more scratches/scuffs that showed up when it had dried up -- car in the garage the whole time. looking for a product that could atleast hide these (or anything specific to the type of leather for this car - are all leathers the same if you get the amg/leather package?)..
maybe someone here knows what dealers use for cleaning the leather seats (or prepping the seats) before the put it on show rooms for sale

Honestly, the Meg's leather products are horrible. Go to autogeek.net and look up Pinnacle Leather Care. I use this product along with Leatherique every once in a while and the results have been fantastic. I personally do not like shine, and these products yield little to no shine and are not slippery. They are also PH balanced and protect the stitching on the seats as well.

It does take light scuff's out, it really is the best product that I have used. It won't shine the leather, rather it returns the leather back to a new look which is a Matt type finish.

A good conditioner goes a long way. What you don't want is the leather to dry out and crack. Apply the conditioner somewhat often. The only Meg products I use are the wheel cleaner and their towels.

After reading the reviews on the leather master I ordered a kit plus a scratch remover from detailers domain. People seemed to give them anywhere 4-5 stars on every review site. Anyone on here have any experience with them ?

Just an FYI, our leather is not strictly leather.. it is a leather with some polymer coating on it.. At least that is my understanding.
As for wax, I use Chemical Guys 50/50 Concourse wax (from detailedimage.com) has it, but it is not cheap, around $60.

So your saying leather treatments hurt it ???

Won't hurt it but there is an ongoing debate as to whether it is really needed. In the "old days" the leather was not coated and conditioner was very important. Today, with treated leather some argue the conditioner never penetrates the coating on the leather. Most leather "conditioners" these days are fine for cars with coated leather as almost all cars are that way today. I'm of the personal belief that it does restore the leather softness and protects the leather... coated or uncoated.

I haven't used this personally but anything I have used from Pinnacle I have liked. I would be interested in your thoughts on it when you have had a chance to put it to use!
