****.. my car now sound like Maserati GT or BMW

Just went to the muffler shop and had them make a custom xpipe for me, now my set up is xpipe in place of secondary cats, and straight pipe in place of the resonators.

Now the car totally sounds different, won't even know its a AMG when it flies by. Has that screaming tone like Maserati GT or BMW if you know what i'm referring to. Lost the angry voice, but now pretty satisfying loud.

Also I notice the start-ups gotten softer compare to my previous resonator delete only (w/ straight pipe)

All the above might change after the ECU adapts to the new easier flowing exhaust? Or perhaps it's because of the customer made x-pipe poor quality?

I kinda like this Maserati GT voice, but looks awkward coming out of a C63.

Yes, you get a higher pitch/ more exotic sound with the x-pipe (which sounds much better IMO). But it still sounds like an AMG to me

I need to make a video asap if possible, mine don't sound like AMG at all haha, its high pitch exotic alright but don't have that AMG tone at all. Maybe it just sounds like that inside the cabin, but different from outside?

I am thinking of just going straight pipe on the 2ndary cat replacement instead, maybe i'll get some raspy and angry voice back.

Oh so most people, xpipe set up has a higher pitch? Weird the youtube videos don't have that high pitch note.

You should've left the resonator.
I deleted me 2nd cats with a straight pipe and the sound is even deeper then stock.

Hm good idea, but I ll wait 2 weeks and see if any changes. Will anything change after the ECU adapts to this? And how long till it adapts, I think i heard it takes 2 weeks in another thread =s

Same here, did the x-pipe and resonator delete, it sounds very exotic and similar to a R35 GT-R in my opinion. But it still has that AMG bark on WOT, the exotic tone is only on partial acceleration.

The X takes away some of the grunt and pops. I have Kleemann manifolds with 200 cell cats and an MBH X and it now sounds more like my friend's E92 with Gintani axle-back.

lol that exotic higher pitch note is growing on me already. Just wasted half tank of gas cruising around the city in sport. I think it only sounds good in sport mode now.

Sport and comfort has quite a different sound IMO. Sport has that supercar higher pitch note.

Will find a way to shoot a video soon, don't got a nice video camera that can record quality sounds.

X pipes are a total con job for AMGs IMHO.The stock AMG exhaust can almost not be improved upon. and x pipe totally destroy the AMG character that attracts so many of us to this marque

I think it's because the way Sport mode makes it high rev easily, so the sound is much smoother and exotic

Yeah I saw this video many times, one of my favorites

and Wow no wonder MBH X pipe cost so much, sure sounds worth the price. Whats the price tag on them anyway?

I noticed your description has these:

APX Performance Package Plus
ROW Air Boxes
AFE Pro Dry Filters
X Pipe
Resonator Delete

do those package, air box, dry filters extras contribute to your awesome sound?

Please make an acceleration video too!

Agree that it takes some character away. But it does gives you a little TQ/HP in return.

The X pipe does have a smoother sound. It doesn't sound as "angry" as the straight pipes from the inside. From a 3rd person perspective it sounds incredible though.

honestly the sound grew on me after 2 hours, its exotic but really looks awkward hearing it come out of a C63 for those who knows what AMG sounds like.

@ _AMG_ +1 from 3rd person perspective must sound amazing

For me, the exotic sound is only on part throttle acceleration from 2,000-3,000rpm. At idle, free rev and WOT, it sounds just like an AMG.

You're right, it wouldn't sound identical but i meant the exhaust note has changed to a higher pitch (kinda like maserati higher pitch note, but of course maserati growls much deeper and more exotic, afterall it is a supercar)
