Get it patched from the inside! I had a much worse bolt in my PSS earlier this year (funny enough after 1.5months!) Take it to Simply Tire and Allen will patch it from the inside. I have been very hard on the tries since and the patched one is still holding up extremely well!

it definitely went through, as it was completely flat when i checked on it last night. I was able to pump air back into it and it held pressure. I'll just have to keep checking the tire pressure when i drive until I can make it out to the tire shop to get it fixed.

Sorry to say my friend but that tire is not repairable. It is too close to the sidewall. Any shop that repairs tires properly will tell you to get a new tire. Keep in mind that there are many shops that will fix it but it's not safe because the patch/plug will roll over to the sidewall and can potential peel off. I know it's a pain to buy another tire but I've seen it happen many times where guys say it will be okay, but do you want to be the one who says that and have a bad blowout on the 401 all because of a $280 tire? It's not worth it bro, believe me.

Eh, don't be too bummed. I was waiting for these tires to go before I bought a matched set of Michelin SSes. Since the rear Vredesteins were wearing faster than the front Toyos, I had to replace them. After I special ordered them online and was having them mounted, I asked the tire shop to rebalance the front. They showed me a gash in the sidewall of one of the front tires.
So ultimately, if I knew about the gash (must not have been bad enough to leak air, but imminent) I would've just sprung for a full set of matched Michelins instead of the exact same tires I already had

ill try to make u feel better with these 2 stories ..
1.. someone slit my sidewall badly once, (and my friend's R8) they were parked together, but the tires had to be changed anyways.
2.. on the new tire, just 1 month old, i floored it on the light, and some piece of metal punctured the tire, and PERFECTLY hit the valve for my my exhaust system, rendering the valve mechanism useless, truly a very rare occurrence .. had to wait 2 months for a new valve as they dont make that seperate, and the hole in the tire was soo big they had to plug it with a piece of rubber about an inch thick, it still leaks so i gotta change it soon.
so, yeh :P dont feel too bad

I knew you were in Canada just by the screw head. Americans don't really use Robertson head screws. It's a Canadian thing, it's also better.
