Carbon fiber is fantastic. I love it inside the car and it goes exceptionally well with the red/black interior. Black ash is for old folks (when I say old folks I mean those 70+ ) and for E class cars
Just took some pics of my car with the carbon trim...

i did see carbon fiber, however, there are no cars with black ash.
oh well, i just emailed my sales guy and asked him to change it to carbon.
the car should look great when it arrives!

I have black ash and I am turning 22 on Tuesday . I wouldve loved CF but here in Canada I ordered my P31 before CF interior trim was standard and didnt want to pay the additional $1200. Black ash looks good IMO and is much darker than what I had originally thought. To be honest it doesnt bother me one bit and lots of people comment saying they love how "Classy" the interior is. -Although I wouldnt care if they didnt think that . If you can afford CF trim go that route... if not the black ash looks really good!

CF actually is one of my least favorites. Burl walnut is the least actually
I like the black ash wood a lot...on a black dash it just looks clean and classy. CF, I think, is kinda 90s racerboy wannabe. I mean let's be real, the advantage of CF is weight savings....paying 2k+ for some trim pieces? I'm just against that in principal - 1 th price and 2 there is zero benefit. When CF is used purposefully it's great, for little things like that? I think it's lame. Fully aware what I just said is totally judgmental and all opinion.
On my C55 I had aluminum and didn't love it, looked ok but kinda plasticy. In my 09 63 I had black ash and loved it. In my 12 I opted for aluminum, as it goes perfectly with other aspects of the dash and blends perfectly with the steering wheel. Also, it is an amazing contrast to the red in the interior.
There's my vote

2013 C63 Black Series
in the C, definitely carbon fiber... which is best suited for the sporty models, why it comes standard in the black series, etc. for an E class, maybe the black ash would be ok.... just my opinion, no offense to anyone that has the black ash, to each their own as its said

In My car I have a mix of black ash and CF all down the center console.
The Black ash is very classy and the CF is very sporty.... I think the mix looks great.

Pretty much everyone who gets Black Ash says that they didn't want to pay the $1200 for the CF....
If the CF was the same price everyone would get it.... Which kinda tells you you should get the CF....nobody regrets it
You see alot of threads of people selling or converting to the CF interior but I don't think you see anyone ripping out CF to put in the black ash

It is not a Hyundai Sonata with fake Carbon Fiber trim. It is a High-End German machine and the Carbon Fiber trim is definitely appropriate. I think if you don't get it- you will regret it later.

I actually do not like CF at all.
I have a black coupe, with red/black interior, but the standard aluminum trim.
I think the contrasts that the aluminum sets up is really nice, meshes well with silver elements of the gauge and wheel. Darker colors just seem to blend into the dash and you lose the " punch" that contrasts can give.
Either way, congrats, you will love it! And 1 more week left for amg academy for me! :-)

Aluminum trim looks cheap. Dark ash is elegant, carbon fiber is sporty. Either way, you won't be paying any attention to the trim once you start the car!

CF > Black Ash > Burl > Aluminum
Last place is a toss-up for me between aluminum and burl...in my opinion, one is cheap, and one doesn't fit the character of the car

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
LOTS of different opinions here, which shows there's no real answer, it's just a matter of personal opinion, & what the O.P. should do, is do what he can to see the various trims in a car & then go the way he decides. Don't M.B. have some sort of "simulator" that enables you to "build" your car, & see what it looks like?
We have a Palladium C63 with black Nappa, & we have the black Ash trim which I think looks pretty smart, & would be my choice.
Cheers, Pickles.

This is so much win as it sums up my sentiments exactly. I also feel a tossup between burl and alu (for last place) mainly because burl has been used solely on most MBs (in the US) for the last two decades so it's aged with me. While the aluminum is different and somewhat cool, it seems like a cheap trim. A nice aluminum trim would be turned aluminum. That looks ace! (2001 SL500 Silver Arrow Edition)

At the end of it all i passed on the CF option and went for the PP which was believe it or not was the more affordable option priced at USD4380. I reckon they've screwed themselves with the pricing in negligently and happily to say if thats the case it isn't my problem because my vehicle has been fully paid for and is happily on the road for 3weeks now
In any case you have a sweet setup there man ... enjoy

Go sit in an SLS with red interior and aluminum trim and tell me it looks cheap. That's what sold me. As they other guy says, the blend with the wheel and the contrast n the dash looks great. Aluminum in the per facelift, I agree, not into it. In the 2012+ absolutely awesome.
