Dads hood/Track

My 63 is a daily driver, but I track it couple times a month. If I'm lazy, at least once. Anyway, Regardless of track or city driving, the engine bay is just fuming. It is so hot. A lot of times after some runs, I pop the hood and leave it up for a while. The front brakes tend to heat up and stay hot.

The point: I have been thinking about getting Dad's CF hood w/ vents. I just cant'd decide if the heat loss is worth it? Are the benefits warranted by the hood?

Dad's: what about body paint match on the hood? Does that defeat any of the hoods benefit?

Anyone have one on a arctic white(650) 63? I'm just on the fence and I'm ot sure about the city driving aspect.

I'm not just looking for pics of a white one with the hood.

Thanks

Although I never documented before and after temperatures, I can tell you that my Dads CF hood removes A LOT of heat from the engine compartment. You can literally see and feel the heat coming out of the vents once you park.

My hood is partially painted (steel grey) on the sides and it doesn't seem to matter. Plus, Keith had Sanford clear the entire hood too. It does a great deal to remove heat and the paint and match were fantastic.

Lots of compliments too...

I have the hood but other than the vents, it has been painted to the car's colour (silver). It does work with regards to heat.

Yes, any vents are going to help. Duh!! Just kidding to you, but so true in life. I have been toying with my own hood project, but just don't have that much time. Plus, I have liked Dad's since before tracking the car.

Your hood is CRAZY!! Got enough venting? I admire your work, but miss the hood bulges. I am sure you temp keeps very nice. Do you track the car?

Anyone who tracks their car have a Dad's?
