C63 BMC air filters

Hey all, so I've checked out a few local dealers in Dubai to remap the ECU. Prices vary between $1100 and $1750.

One that charges $1350 includes them changing the air filters to BMC filters. Should I look to go with that? It's a trusted garage so may consider that anyway. If I do go with it, should I opt to stay stock with the filters or replace with BMC?

This tune should take me to the e63 spec amg.

Thanks

Careful with the BMC filters. I have just read a post on the E-class section about the BMC filters disintegrating and causing $5000 damage on the M156 not coverged by warranty. The person is now facing serious dilemma on what to do.

I did not have a good experience with the BMC filters for my now departed C63, I had hesitation problems, with lurching as well. I removed the BMC and went back to oem and the problem never happend again. So, no after market filters for me.

I would keep them stock, honestly. Have heard a few stories, as mentioned before.

Don't listen to the laughable BS above. BMC filters are amazing. I have been using them for almost 2 years now without any problems at all, They have been proven to allow the engine to breath more air freely and at the same time provide better filteration than the cheap paper elements.

When you get the filters, they will already be oiled. Just peel the sticker off and place the filter as it is in your airbox. You will have no problem. Most of the problems you hear about are due to a couple of smarta$$es over oiling thier filters and eventually that oil will damage the MAF sensors. It's not our problem that they are complete morons. Don't blame the filters, blame your head for not thinking straight.

Check the following thread:

I would contact the PO of that thread if you don't want to end up in the same situation. Of course, if you are oozing with cash from every orifice, then there is no need to listen to experiences from others.

So one experience negates 1000?

One Mercedes engine blows up so they will all blow up?
