Might be crazy enough to try muffler delete
Has anyone tried muffler delete? I searched and found few threads about it, but no one really seems to have it done. Also searched some E55s with muffler delete w/ xpipe 2nd cat deletes, sounds not bad.
Only reason I want to do it is for sound and also because I don't want to touch the main cats. If I really do this mod, would I need just 2 cuts and weld on a Y pipe?
I'll be sure to post videos if I get this done

My friend did it, very LOUD. But not in a goodway, but that's just my opinion. He didn't like it either and reverted it back literally right before he even left the shop. You could try it, will definitely get you some unwanted attention though if cops are as bad as they are in va. Got two exhaust violation tickets and I have an xpipe/straight pipe secondary/res delete. Its not even that loud...lol if anything its same as stock but more refined.

alright.. too many negatives about this lol! I'll just switch my xpipe on the 2ndCat to Straight pipe. not sure how much louder this will be but at least i'll get the AMG bark back

Well, what is certain is that your car is going to be SUPER loud! You might like it for the first couple of hours and then the novelty will wear off almost immediately after that.

That's just asking for trouble from LEOs.
I thought straight pipe is equivalent of a muffler delete? It's essentially one uninterrupted pipe from the engine. That's at least the bike world definition. The car in the video doesn't sound loud enough to be a straight pipe.
BTW.. is this a muffler delete? Or just 2ndCat delete w/ straight pipe?

Well, I listened to most of you and decided not to touch the mufflers
I just switched my Xpipe to Straight pipe. Now the car runs on Straight/Straight on the res/2ndCat.
Car sounds so untamed now, but at least i got those insane AMG barks again Hopefully it'll sound a bit more tamed once the ECU adapts
Here's a sound test I just did a moment ago
The car is noticeably louder than the xpipe setup, also acceleration isn't as smooth as the Xpipe of course. But Speed-wise I don't feel any slower, probably lost a few torque ~~

Awesome! sounds so clean.. Mine sounds so untamed right now because of the RAW barks and insane crackles after 3000RPM lol think i need an H pipe
I am happier with the raspy/deep note than the exotic high pitch though because it defines AMG more
