Question about winter rim for c63

Trying to get some winter rims for my MY10 C63....need help...since i don't want any wheel rub....I have the tires already....the tires is Prielli Scottozero II 235/40R18
The tire shop offer me the following rim size

18 x 8 offset 35
18 x 8 offset 50
18 x 8.5 offset 45
18 x 8.5 offset 35

which one should i get to be safe in order to clear the brake and not rub the wheel well....

thanks

Anyone know if there exists any plain, cheap, ordinary hubcap style steel wheels that I could throw some winter tires on, I do not want to really get another set of rims (okay, my wife does not want me to... )

I'm interested in this as well. Does anybody know if 18x8 et 35 would fit our cars without any clearance issue?

I'm looking at these rims and 265/235 Pilot sport alpins. Won't be DDing my car over the winter just running it on dry days.

http://www.oemwheelplus.com/mercedes...ims-p-473.html

All the tire rack options are 19 inch... They gotta fix that.

I have a set of oem all seasons from my wife's c350 that I'm tempted to try first tho... Even with everyone telling me not to!

Oops.. When you are on tirerack.. pick your vehicle as 2012 c350 sedan and pick 18" winter rim packages.. You will see ~100 rims to choose from..

I am thinking of getting these rims..Does it work ?

you guys don't need winter rims....just get some vredestein wintrac extreme. I think it's 245 and 265. Yeah it's staggered, but works great. I never had an issue in the Pac NW with several snows. Ice was another issue, but that'll get anything but studded tires. Plus they handle very well in the cold and wet.

factory summer is

18x8 ET 45
18x9 ET 54

factory winter is 18X8 ET45

with ET 45 wheels you will have room to run spaces but why would you want to?

With my setup that allows you to use all older style Mercedes spec wheels 18X8.5 ET 35 will not allow the use of spacers and is not needed there is plenty of room between the spoke and caliper the issue is the wheel barrel is very close to the front caliper. These older spec mercedes wheels are the ones that everyone will tell you wont fit and you have to buy newer ET wheels...

I had this same problem last year going to tireshops trying to find something suitable.

Personally since ET 45 wasn't an option for me at the time they where all sold out, a friend of mine had those brabus s replicas so I got them from him test fitted and low and behold they work.

My summer setup is 19X8.5 ET 35 and 19X10 ET 60 with a 5mm spacer to bring its overall ET to 55

If I was doing it again I would still try and buy a wheel as close to factory setup as possible so my choice would be 18X8 ET 45 all around but depending on the replica company, the way the spokes are designed and the wheel barrel you might run into issues.

BTW yes tirerack has alot of wheels to choose from however 90% of them are not hubscentric and will leave you running hubcentric rings and other garbage.

Reason alot of us run winter rims as it protects your summer wheels from salt corrosion and bends from the pot holes that develop due the winter conditions in Canada.

Personally I don't like anyone working on my car so to have someone mount and unmounted tires 4 times a year would probably lead to your expensive Mercedes rims getting and screwed up because there are very few people that know what they are doing and do a good job as if it was there own car they where working on.

I also enjoy being able to put them on when ever I want not having to make appointments waste time going to a garage. I just pull out my jack and impact gun and in 30 mins I am all ready to go for winter and 100% A1 perfect job every time never leaves me disappointed or relying on some kid that gets paid minimum wage to work in a garage and install tires.

No worries there...in that case, use the stock rims for the winter, and buy something for the summer. I think that makes more sense.

for winter traction its better to have same width wheels all around. I get what your saying but its harder and alot more expensive to get those tires your recommending here in Canada... just like everything we buy its cheaper in the United States

On my link to rims, how do you tell if it is hubcentric or not? Does not state on specifications, unless I am reading it wrong. I am new to rims, can you explain 'other garbage'? I want to order soon, but don't want to mess anything up.. Thanks in advance

Look under included hardware, they require hubcentric rings. My understanding is these type of wheels are made for a wide variety of cars and they give you special rings that center it up for you specific vehicle...

(20) Required lugbolt for vehicle
(4) Required centering ring

"Listen to me very carefully. There are three ways of doing things around here: the right way, the wrong way, and the way that *I* do it. You understand?" ~ Ace Rothstein

Personally I wouldn't run anything that's not properly made for my C63 on my C63

Except we have C63s, not C350s... much bigger brakes. I'm worried about the clearance as the OEM 18s have very little room...

When I go on tirerack and select 2010 C63 I get ten wheel types and they're all 19inch wheels.

Makes me a bit worried that the OEM 18s are a special design to clear the calipers, and so only the 19s fit on other brands?

Hmm, you may be right.. If you select 2011 c63 sedan and winter package, I believe there are 3 rims available. Starting to hurt my head on getting rims..

Should I just buy nice rims next spring or cheapos now.. decisions..

The oem 18 have a flat inner wheel barrel some aftermaket have steps in them... that why my old authentic brabus 18" wheels wont fit on the C63 there is a step in the wheel barrel that hits the caliper.
